Stress
So my specialist said I was lucky and he was putting the care back to my GP I still take
statins
and Ramipril and Asprin and Bisoprolol. I was taking 2.5mg of Ramipril and 2.5mg Bisoprolol. But I was going dizzy and my blood pressure was low.

Cholesterol biosynthesis & Enzalutamide resistance
Some will know that I favor the use of
statins
to shut off certain escape paths in therapies that involve the androgen receptor axis. In particular, I favor Simvastatin, but other
statins
that are also highly lipiphilic might be comparable.

Beating the Odds
I had regular Blood panels done every three to four months because I take
Statins
so I was shocked to get this diagnosis out of the blue this spring to say the least. I have gone to a plant based diet, work out three times a week lost 20 pounds.

Low Carb Diet May Shorten Life
I have also seen it suggested that fat intake (to make up the calories) is irrelevant and that cholesterol and
statins
are both a myth and a con. For myself I will stick where I am now diet wise. What are your thoughts on low carbing? I know some people doi t for health not just diabetes.

Bigger picture
She has put me on
statins
and then more
statins
. I’ve been getting dizzy and light headed a lot. My GP just sees a fat person and is fixated about my cholesterol. I would like to see a private endocrinologist who might look at the complete picture, that is the menopause, thyroid, adrenal etc.

He said my CT angiogram has showed that I have narrowing in my left artery he said it was mild/moderate but I need too go on 40mg of
statins
and 75mg of aspirin. He also send he was very shocked as he never expected that from someone in there 30s. This scared me.

Re Meds & thank you
Switching Atorvastatin from pm to am seems to have eased the problem (apparently whereas most
statins
should be taken at night, Atorvastatin is safe to take at any time). Still take Lisinopril and Hydroxy at night. 3. No sign of further TIA or other nasties (phew!)

Coronary Calcium Score test
I had extremely high cholesterol readings for 30 years and had resisted taking
statins
in an attempt to reduce the levels - after all I had no other risk factors, non-smoking, god blood pressure, not overweight, exercised regularly for years - but I was found to have a high count of 600 .

Clodripogel experiences?
I'm a bit sceptical about non-sourced articles on the web, but there are a few that suggest that clodripogel and
statins
don't always mix well. Does anyone have any first hand experience of this?

Atorvastatin
The purpose of
statins
is to reduce cholesterol levels and this has been happening. Why would the doctor be reluctant to reduce the dosage? Am I missing something? Discuss!

Cholesterol - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - a medical Furphy blindsiding unsuspecting patients
Statins
prevent the liver from making LDL, causing a metabolic deficiency. Some people are lucky to escape relatively unharmed, but I believe many more than we know have their health ruined by medicos' ignorance!

Is memory loss linked to thyroid problems?
My mother has various health issues, she is Type 2 diabetic and takes
statins
and has also been told her body makes too much calcium. She has a fatty liver but doesn't drink and isn't overweight, if anything she is underweight. She also has arthritis.

Diet Plan to avoid statins
The doctor wants me on
statins
but I am concerned and am thinking of trying to lower it with diet or supplements over the next 3 months until my next bloods. I eat generally healthy anyway but do like a fortnightly takeaway. Can I have one monthly or never again?!

Wellbeing in old age as well
This high spirited lady started taking
statins
Rosuvastatien 5mg per day and blood pressure medication. Within 2 weeks I felt as though I had a broken Rib due to golf perhaps because in no way would I have been able to tie it up with the new medication 😱.
