Since being diagnosed with PAF back in March 2014 it has been somewhat of a turbulent journey to say the least. I have tried different Sotalol and bisoprolol and neither seemed to have much effect. I have been prescribed Flecainide as a PIP which I haven't used yet as normally my episodes revert in about

Consultant Table Tennis!
Well it was time to visit my lung specialist at the hospital today. To find out what my SA test had shown up? Ask why I have not heard about the PR I was supposed to go on? Got there early and went through the reception process with the most miserable person on the desk as I greeted her with a smile

Chemo allergies, blood transfusions, and constipation--oh my!
During my mom's second transfusion she had a bad reaction to the taxol and almost passed out. Is this common? They halted the drug, gave her benadryl, then resumed and she was able to finish the treatment. Is this common? And why would it happen on the 2nd treatment, not the first? Also, her labs came

Hi all, It's nice to have found this forum. I'll start with just a few words about me. I'm a 50 year old male in Canberra, Australia. I was first diagnosed with paroxysmal AF and Atrial Flutter in 1995 (age 31). Prior to then, I had no idea that I had any heart issue, and it was just picked up in

increase in medication
Hi everyone, I saw my EP this week and she wants me to increase my Sotalol to 180mgs twice a day, reduce my Ramipril to 5mgs of a morning and cease taking my Felodipine; I also take Rivaroxaban daily. I am still talking myself up to taking the increased dose of Sotalol, is anyone else on this much Sotalol

Primary peritoneal cancer
Does anybody out there have this one? I originally had just carboplatin but within 2 months the ascitic fluid built up again so I am now going to be on carboplatin + taxol. I shall be losing my beautiful locks! The woes!

I am allergic to taxol
Dear Choice, sorry I could not find your name! I am allergic to Taxol! So therefore, I am only doing the Carboplatin! After doing six sessions on my reoccurance, I was only in remission for 5 months! The Oncologist assured me that it wasn't because just having the Carbollation was adequate! I don't

Choice of chemo drugs
Diagnosed with stage 3 oc and have been offered chemo of carboplatin with taxol. I had stoma surgery 2 weeks ago in readiness for this. Although I'm new to the site, having read many of the posts I realise there are many of you who have already been through so much. So do any of you have opinions about

Painful Journey ...Still looking for a hope
Dignosed on Oct. 2013, Peritoneal/abdominal might be ovary origin, metastatic papillary serous carcinoma...the last 12 months finished 3 kind of chemo Carbo & Taxol, Doxil as well as etoposide. Last CT showed few/small progression here and there with no sign of remission at all. No hope for any thing

Blood Pressure
Hi everyone. Its been nearly a year since I had my heart attack. Since then I have been on Ramapril for blood pressure, Warfarin, Sotalol and Simvastatin. As far as I know I have never had high blood pressure. The blood clot that caused my attack was the result of AF. My blood pressure at rest sitting

4th line chemo
Hi, I dont think I have ever posted before though I have derived great comfort from reading others posts. I am in Ireland, my mam, who is 62, was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer in Dec 2012. Peritoneal carcinomatosis was also mentioned later so to be honest I dont know if maybe that is the more

Run out of chemo options. Clinical Trials now
Well I am finally writing the thing I hoped I would never have to do. On my 4th canceranniversary plus one day I had a scan and the results were not good in so much that my cancer is progressing. My long suffering oncologist has tried me on everything available and it seems that I am now chemo refractory

Good News.
I have stage 4 Oc. I have had 3 cycles of carbo/ taxol and debulking surgery. Yesterday I went in for the first of my final 3 chemos. I was told that my CA125 has dropped from 16711 in June to 25. It is now within normal range! Yeah.

AF
Well I have been in AF continuously now since Thursday; 3 days without a break. I am on Sotalol 120 mgs twice a day and Xarelto 20 mgs of a night. This is the first time in 7-8 years my AF has gone on over 24 hours. My rate isn't too rapid but the rhythm is a bit out of sync; I cant wait to see the specialist
