Newly diagnosed
I had to wait for a multidisciplinary conference to decide what type of cyst it is, because I had both traits of a pseudocyst and a Mucinous cyst (my Amylase is >80,000, but my CEA number was 48, in a grey area) so they are treating it as mucinous cyst and doing a distal pancreatectomy,

Recurrence in spleen
Consultant advises watch and wait and does not advise
splenectomy
. CA125 76, no symptoms. Just wondering if anyone out there has lesions in their spleen and what treatment if any they have had. I gather it is unusual for it to recur in the spleen.

Exhaustion
This is all due to complications following a
splenectomy
, which caused the clot, which is turn affected the liver. He is currently working stretches of 7 days in a row, with a day off. He is not eating and is very tired. I'm sure they're linked he isn't. Any pointers?

Thalassemia: Lessons in Perseverance and Compassion
At 10, I had a
splenectomy
. At 13, my tonsils and adenoids were removed. At 17, I broke my back and both feet in an accident unrelated to thalassemia. At 18, my doctor said I was a miracle, alive without treatment despite a hemoglobin of 6.9 (normal is 12 to 14 for women).

Spleen embolisation gone wrong
Hello, Does anyone have any experience of why anyone with Polycythemia Vera and Portal Vein Thrombosis, with a 22cm spleen would be offered a partial
splenectomy
, a spleen embolisation through the groin? Has anyone been through this?

10th Year CLL Anniversary - becoming 'Normal'
After a tricky first year with AIHA (and I was worried the end was close at one stage), I had a
splenectomy
in Jan 2013 to stop the AIHA. Since then I have had no sign of haemolysis/AIHA. Long may that continue!

It's been a long haul
It has not all been easy, I was W&W for 6 years with a steady increase in WBC numbers, in 98 I had a
splenectomy
due to it being severely enlarged.

Scar revision surgery
I am thinking of having scar revision surgery for a lateral abdomen scar post emergency
splenectomy
. I’m told the scar is “pretty neat” but as a young Indian female. It is extremely difficult to overcome, give the transition dress shows the midriff.

How to get rid of this itp thing
Oh, regarding
splenectomy
, I'm afraid like a mad dog. You don't know how much I hate operations and doing this gamble. In the past couple of months after getting a count of 30k two months in a row, the stress was really high and I check my mouth frequently ever since.

Spleenless now
FWIW I had a
splenectomy
3 weeks ago and am now recovering well thankyou. My surgeon told me that my spleen had been the size of a small baby, it had weighed 2.5 kg. I’ll ask him for an actual size (mm) next time I see him.
