Liver Stent/Tips
Hi, I had a tips in May 2022, within 6 weeks it failed and I had urgent surgery to correct it in July 2022. I've been told my new TIPS is very big. Since then I have felt absolutely amazing. However, past week I've had a build up of ascities - not huge but enough to see my weight increase by 7lbs. I

Inflammation of the toe
I’m 75, with AF, and have been suffering from a red , and painful middle toe for a number of days. Exercise is impossible, and I normally do a lot of walking, golf etc., so I’m not happy. I don’t think it’s gout - I’m not a drinker, or overweight. It’s worse at night, but is gradually responding to

Diastolic dysfunction.
I have been diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction. Does anyone else have experience of this? The doctor has put me on furosemide. I worry if this leads to heart failure.

SPIRONOLACTONE . WHEN CAN I STOP TAKING IT?
I'm eager to know others experience and advice about Spironolactone. I was prescribed it 2 years ago when I had Ascites. I have never had a repeat of Ascites since that time, have undergone surgery successfully unrelated to liver issues and had no problems post General Anaesthetic. In short I have been

Apprehensive
I have had Furosemide added to my prescription due to fluid retention in my feet and ankles, due to mild heart failure associated to persistent AF. There are loads of side effects associated with it. GP says we have to monitor kidney function closely as I am stage 3CKD. Just wondered if anyone on here

Ascites for over a week
Hi any advice welcome. My partner has had ascites for close to two weeks now. He's been on spironolactone a week now, and he's still peeing and pooing loads. He's had around 1 day where it eased off and he actually ate a meal. His GP was supposed to be contacting his consultant to expedite an appointment

Stinging/burning leg pain
I had a Triple Bypass and Mitral Valve Repair in 2019 and last year I was diagnosed with Heart Failure. I was prescribed Spironolactone but after developing side effects of one breast swelling and painful to touch these were stopped a couple weeks ago. I’ve now been prescribed Eplerenone so hopefully

Recent deterioration
I have an autoimmune liver disease called Nodular Regenerative Hyperplasia. This is caused by a primary immune condition called Common Variable Immune Deficiency. I have deteriorated slowly over 10 years and the phrase “ advanced liver disease” was used for the first time in September. A few weeks

Water tablets and Heatwave.
Part of my daily meds are the water tablets

Furosemide

Taking 2 water tablets
Hi , I have several heart conditions and amongst other medications I am taking 25 mg of Spironolactone . I recently had my annual echocardiogram and it’s showing that my ejection fraction has decreased . The cardiologist has now prescribed Dapagliflozin 10 mg as well as the Spironolactone . I’m concerned

Spironolactone or Eplenerone
My ejection fraction has decreased from 40-45% to 35-40% so my cardiologist is starting me on Dapagliflozin and then either Spironolactone or Eplenerone. I already take Candesartan. Is either one of those better than the other and are side effects the same? I’ve also read that Spironolactone can cause

Is anyone on furosemide for water retention?
I've just started with it, but don't seem to be peeing much more yet. Wondering how long it takes to get going, as the swelling in my legs abdomen, etc quite bad now.

AF back
So after 4 years A F free, the mongrel has returned. I am so upset 😡 😫 😪 and contacted my HF Nurse who has cut down my spironolactone to every other day as i have also been getting light headed and woozy. She has also reduced my Bumetanide from 4 to 3 daily. My Consultant has stopped my Bisoprolol

Can Methylprednisolone affect Ascites?
I am currently on 100mg
spironolactone
and 40mg
furosemide
daily to help my Ascites. Recently I hurt my back running and was prescribed a 4mg/day methylprednisolone dose pack to help with the injury.
