Do I or Don't I - more than a little confused now
After suffering from Cardio problems for more years than pussy was a kitten I ended up being totally taken aback at an appointment that had been postponed 3 times last Monday. Having been told I was in Heart Failure and taking a pile of pills the original plan last October was to have a Micro Perfusion

Another update pneumonia.
Just to bring you all up to speed. I went to the Drs on Thursday night and she said I still had the crackles in my left lung. She took a blood test there and then and sent me for an urgent X Ray which I had the next morning. I rang late afternoon to see if there was anything and they hadn’t even looked

Info on MIL
Hi, I haven't commented for quite a while as we are very busy looking after family with illnesses. MIL is at the moment in hospital, she was very confused and doing some bizarre things. Mil has decompensated Cirrhosis of the liver, non alcoholic. She had ascites in 2015 and had 12 litres fluid drained

Confused and feeling alone
I was told I had COPD about 10 years ago, I have lived a normal life maybe the odd really bad cough in winter but nothing that needed hospital treatment, since February 2017 I have gone down bank quickly, my legs and feet are that swollen I cannot get any shoes on, it hurts to walk, if I stand up and

Queasy
Hi all, presently on apixaban, digoxin, adizam, and statins recently had a two lead pacemaker. 13 years open heart surgery for a mitral valve repair. My GP a few weeks ago gave frusemide, now feeling queasy, and a horrid taste in mouth. I have stopped frusemide today , my thinking is that’s the problem

Need your help
I would like to ask u all for Yr help if it is not too intrusive. I feel that my husband was not given the opportunity to go for an assessment when he first lost all the water retention and treated like a gineapig he was on 100m g of spirolactone a day and this causes the potassium levels to raise and

Baby or health? Petrified of coming off medication to conceive.
Since last year my pcos has been managed really well with a combo of Yasmin pill/ spironolactone 75mg and diet. I’m nearly 35 and my consultant had ‘the talk’ with me today about how I need to get a move on if I want to try to conceive. She advised coming off the Yasmin and spironolactone and switching

Breathlessness
I have heart failure diagnosed October last year. I left hospital on Omeprazole, Frusemide. Isosorbide mononitrate, ramipril, Bisoprolol, digoxin, wRfarin and atorvastatin. All was ok until a couple of months ago when my GP noticed I had a cough and stopped the ramipril. She also said that I didn't need

Side effects of diuretics Part 2
Thank you for the helpful answers to my query of yesterday. I went to see the GP this morning. She said she'd never heard of extreme fatigue being a side effect of Furosemide. I showed her the leaflet which does indicate that 'tiredness, fever or generally feeling unwell' is one of the less common side

How to lose 5kg (11lb) in 24 hrs.
That is how much weight in body fluid that I have just lost virtually overnight due to a diarrhoea bug. This was followed by excruciatingly painful stomach gas ejections (or farting as the NHS Site calls it.) I honestly can't understand how the porcelain remained intact, I could swear that one blast

Side effects of diuretics
One of the main side effects I experience from Prednisolone is swollen feet and ankles. Last week during the very hot weather I couldn't even get on the old canvas gym shoes that I normally wear. My doctor sent me for a blood test to make sure my kidney functions are normal and then prescribed a diuretic

Furosemide
Morning all! Hope you’re all having a lovely Bank Holiday and enjoying the sunshine! Just a quick question, I’m on 80mg of Furosemide a day, 40mg in a morning then 40 on an afternoon, is this normal to have them staggered like that? I just find it a nightmare trying to a) remember to take the afternoon

Doctor unwilling to prescribe combined Pill

Happy Easter everyone. My husband is 63 & has at least moderate heart failure. He's recently been put on spironolactone (low doseage) & he's having regular blood tests for potassium & his kidneys. The tests are regularly showing readings of serum creatinine level (XE2q5) of between 106 to 117 umol/L.
