Surgery on Thursday what to expect?
So quite unexpectedly the hospital contacted me today offering me ACDF surgery on my neck on Thursday. I had a pre op a few months back so I understand the operation etc It's what happens after that I'm trying to find out. If you have had neck or any similar spinal surgery what was your experience?

Hi all, I'm new to this page so hope I am able to get some advice. I've been on morphine for about 5 years, now taking 120mg twice daily along with gabapentin and naproxen and others 🙄, I have had failed spinal surgery. I am not getting a break from pain even with everything I'm on and I'm wondering

Spinal
Tap
Time! Now, have I mentioned that UNMH is a teaching hospital? Suddenly, a huge crowd files into the room while I'm told to roll over onto my left side.

Just a thought I want to share. I know most can relate to most of what I’ve written... John 14:27 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with MS. Was it a shock

Has anyone had a similar situation?
The following day I called my Oncologist and he advised me to go back to emergency to have a
spinal
tap
to rule out meningitis as I had neck pain, I did and that was negative. The shoulder pull is starting to heal (slowly) but last night the sweats were even more.

Medicheck results - am I a poor converter?
Hello there, I had a Medicheck thyroid test as my GP says I'm well within range on my TSH 1.29 (0.3 - 4.2), the only test he ordered to check if 100mg of Levo was right for me. I had asked for FT4 and FT3 but they weren't done, surprise. My Medicheck results are TSH 0.805 (0.27 - 4.2) FT4 19

IM IN A STATE OF CONFUSION! I desperately need help to understand and actions to take following recent blood results.
My GP reduced my levo thyroxine from 100mcg to 75mcg, at beginning of March, as my TSH was 0.13 (0.27-4.2)..... T4 was21.1 (12-22) T3 was 4.9 (3.1-6.8) Of course he thinks that TSH is the most important reading , 😡 and I hadn’t the energy to dispute it . Was supposed to be retested in 6 weeks but

Thoracic syrinx on my spine
Can I ask anyone, how serious is a thoracic syrinx on your spine, I'm really worried that the syrinx will stop me from having spinal cord stimulator operation to help with my neuropathy in my feet

Inj. Hertraz insurance cover
Hi Everyone, This is regarding insurance cover for Trastuzumab(Hertraz Inj.). The cashless claim for this was rejected recently for 2nd cycle claiming it was not payable by UHC TPA, while the same was approved for the 1st cycle. I don't know why they rejected it for 2nd cycle. I have applied for reimbursement

Sons thyroid results
Hi, My son (18) has just had a full thyroid check with Medicheck. We did this because he is often very tired and I have Hashimotos (and my mother had Lupus, so AI in the family). I thought he may have it too. His results are: CRP HS 0.14 (0-5) Ferritin 192 (30-400) Folate serum 6.03 (3.89-19.45)

Newbie/ Medichecks results
Hi, As a newbie to all of this I’d really appreciate some help and advice. A few weeks ago I went to see my GP because I was feeling exhausted. I’ve been many times over the years, and looking back, my visits have been around tiredness (mostly), feeling like there’s a lump in my throat when swallowing

CLL/SLL and Ibrutinib
The doctor settled on Ibrutinib because it has good penetration to the
spinal
fluid and a
spinal
tap
had shown cancer cells in the
spinal
fluid. So far the side effects on Ibrutinib have been very mild. I’ve felt sick, but not terribly.

New member...questions about hashimotos and autoimmune encephalitis
The more I took, the worse I felt...I ended up hospitalised, and a
spinal
fluid
tap
was ordered. It showed I had autoimmune encephaltis...I was treated with high doses of cortisone IV for five days, then went on oral cortisone for a few weeks and then the treatment was stopped.

CLL and Ibrutinib
That sounded like a lot to me at the time but since then I’ve had a
spinal
tap
that found cancer cells in my
spinal
fluid and on Tuesday I had a lung CT scan which should two tumors in my lungs. The news just keeps getting better and better.
