Since being diagnosed with PAF back in March 2014 it has been somewhat of a turbulent journey to say the least. I have tried different Sotalol and bisoprolol and neither seemed to have much effect. I have been prescribed Flecainide as a PIP which I haven't used yet as normally my episodes revert in about

Consultant Table Tennis!
Well it was time to visit my lung specialist at the hospital today. To find out what my SA test had shown up? Ask why I have not heard about the PR I was supposed to go on? Got there early and went through the reception process with the most miserable person on the desk as I greeted her with a smile

Introduction
Hi all, It's nice to have found this forum. I'll start with just a few words about me. I'm a 50 year old male in Canberra, Australia. I was first diagnosed with paroxysmal AF and Atrial Flutter in 1995 (age 31). Prior to then, I had no idea that I had any heart issue, and it was just picked up in

increase in medication
Hi everyone, I saw my EP this week and she wants me to increase my Sotalol to 180mgs twice a day, reduce my Ramipril to 5mgs of a morning and cease taking my Felodipine; I also take Rivaroxaban daily. I am still talking myself up to taking the increased dose of Sotalol, is anyone else on this much Sotalol

Blood Pressure
Hi everyone. Its been nearly a year since I had my heart attack. Since then I have been on Ramapril for blood pressure, Warfarin, Sotalol and Simvastatin. As far as I know I have never had high blood pressure. The blood clot that caused my attack was the result of AF. My blood pressure at rest sitting

Well I have been in AF continuously now since Thursday; 3 days without a break. I am on Sotalol 120 mgs twice a day and Xarelto 20 mgs of a night. This is the first time in 7-8 years my AF has gone on over 24 hours. My rate isn't too rapid but the rhythm is a bit out of sync; I cant wait to see the specialist

I am 57 years old (female) and taking Sotalol 120mgs twice a day and now on rivaroxaban 20mgs nightly. My AF has been stable for the past 6 months but for the last 7 days I have been flipping

Sotalol dosage
Had a CV about a year ago. 200 joules one shot successful. I take 20mg morning and evening. Looked it up on line and that dosage is recommended for babies. Rhythm is good. Rate is good. Blood pressure good. Do you think the Sotalol is having any effect at all. 72 yrs old weigh 118 kg 6'3". Thoughts?

Advice needed, please!
I'm 66 years old and experienced my first AF attack a couple of years ago which needed an overnight stay in hospital. I have, apart from just a few short- lived "flutters", stayed clear of symptoms. My doctor prescribed Sotalol to suppress the AF (I'm not on Warfarin) and up until last week everything

Pulse rate 44
Good morning, I always take time to read the daily AF postings and so admire the support given to all! Please may I ask a question? I have been in normal SNR since January of this year. I consider myself to be well controlled With Sotalol 80mg twice a day and Amlodipine/Simvastatin and Wafarin. Over

I went to see my GP last night holding the print offs from Cardiograph app and with the knowledge that Sotolal is now not recommended for AF. I mentioned to him that my symptoms had changed along with dizziness and again asked for his thoughts on referral. He once again said no to referral as they

Hi all, just when I thought I was getting well enough to not need this site so much! ha! Blue lighted to hospital on Friday evening with suspected heart attack, turns out it is more likely either angina or oesophageal spasm caused by cryo-ablation 4 weeks ago. They have changed my medication from Sotalol

Further to NICE no longer recommending Sotalol for rate control does anyone know what will happen for patients already taking Sotalol?

Anyone had experience good or bad with dronedarone?
I have just been changed to dronedarone from flecanide which had no effect on my AF. Previously I was on sotalol again with limited results. Interested in people's experience. I accept that everyone is different. My cardiologists view was that the next option was ablation rather than further drug based

I'm on Sotalol 80mg twice a day for PAF. I have tried to read the updated guidelines from NICE but unsure if they are now saying this drug
Is not recommended for the treatment of PAF. Should I be asking my doctor or cardiologist for a review?
