27 years old, starting sotalol. Any experience?
Hey guys, so I'm 27 years old and 4 years post op for bicuspid aortic valve disease. A year ago I was running 6 miles a day healthy as can be, when suddenly I started to get PVCs. They would quickly progress so fast that I get them constantly, almost every beat when I'm mobile. They're symptomatic and

Pacemaker implanted. Long road ahead
Hi all! My pacer was finally implanted 5 weeks ago. The left side where the incision was made is still painful sometimes. I am on sotalol and flecanide to control the tachycardia now but have been gaining weight. Do these drugs with the pacer cause weight gain? I don't feel strong enough anymore.

Little update
Not posted for a while, though I check in every day! Some of you might recall my posts last year regarding my OH - he had ablation in Nov 2018; he’d been taking Amiodarone which caused lung damage; he had bronchial pneumonia in August; followed by shingles! He’s still waiting for another ablation - Amiodarone

Help. Is it safe to run and swim on Sotalol Hydrochloride. What is safer Bisoprolo or Sotalol
My son was diagnosed with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy in March 2019. He is on the autistic spectrum and loved his running, swimming and cycling prior to being diagnosed. He was fitted with an ICD in April 2019 and originally put on 1.25mg of bisoprolol fumarate. This seem to

AFib & Sleep Apnea
Good day all! I have A Fib/Flutter on sotalol & eliquis. I want very much to get off meds if at all possible. In October I had a bad month with several bouts of AF, not my norm. By the end of the month was preparing (mentally) for ablation. Just needed to schedule. Then at the same time I finally

Mexiletine
Does anybody take mexiletine? I’m taking 200mg 3 times daily and sotalol 40mg twice daily. I’m just wondering does anybody have any side affects from these drugs as I’m experiencing some slight abdominal discomfort after taking each dose makes me feel uneasy and wanted to know if this is something I

Hypertriglyceridaemia and Omega 3 capsules
because I suffer from abnormally high triglycerides the past 10 years or so I have been prescribed a daily dose of Omacor. By courtesy of NICE my GP has now refused to prescribe these capsules any more so I have to buy them myself at £50 a time (compared to £28 that it cost the NHS). For a period of

I have had some good feed back from lots of you but not about how the increased dose affected me so badly and has anyone else had a similar reaction. Bad pains in chest and neck a really bad shortness of breath, stomach seemed to be rising and falling ,chest very little and panting for each breath ,

What to expect?
I have had AF for 16 years, had a pace maker fitted at the start and was prescribed warfarin, and sotalol which slowed me down a lot. Recently my AF has returned with a vengeance, had an episode from pm one day continuing through the night causing an ache in my chest and inability to sleep. Next day

Sotalol side effects
I've had both SVT and AF ablation's. The SVT was from just after I had my first child and was severe. The ablation for that took and I was put on Verapemil (sp?) I had no further SVT and all was well. Then after 30 years I began 11 years of hell that brought me here: total gastrectomy; followed 3 years

Imminent ablation
Got the date for my ablation in two weeks time. I am now terrified wondering if I have made the right decision. It’s the death risk of 1 in 1000 that really bothers me. My af is well under control with only one , very debilitating episode and the odd hour each year. I have been on quite a high dose of

Pain post ablation
Hi, I’m new here and 3 weeks post ablation for AF and atrial flutter. I am on sotalol 40 mg twice daily and so far am not having any arrythmias, just occasional ectopics which I can happily live with. My problem is that I am having regular episodes of chest pain and/ or heartburn, I don’t really know

AFib attacks Xmas Eve and New Years Eve.
I was in AFib on Xmas Eve for 12 hours approx. and NEW YEARS for approx 24 Hours. Seemed like no reason for the Xmas Eve attack BPM up to 170 during the New Year period. I suspect the trigger for the New Year episode was some Glasses of Prosecco during the evening which brought AFib on during the early

Flecainide and Bisoprolol - contre indicated?
Hi Everyone, I was on Sotolol for a couple of years but had quite long episodes of Paroxysmal Afib a couple of times a month. The cardiologist changed me to 200mg slow release Flec and 3.75 Bisoprolol. All the annoying ectopics disappeared but I started having very brief episodes of Afib. This week

No PIP after Ablation.
Hi, I had my first Ablation in May this year and was taken off Sotalol and put on Flecainide for three months before going cold turkey. Whilst on Sotalol I had Flecainide as my PIP and was reasonable successful ( probably 4 out of 6 episodes it stopped ). About 12 days ago I could feel my heart missing

Mild PAF symptoms, should I bother?!
Ever since my first knee replacement was postponed due to the last minute discovery of my PAF most of the decisions have been left to me. The current situation 3 years down the line is that I seem to have an unusual form. It's like a timeclock . I get it every 4-6 days and it lasts almost exactly 48
