AFib & Sleep Apnea

Good day all! I have A Fib/Flutter on sotalol & eliquis.

I want very much to get off meds if at all possible. In October I had a bad month with several bouts of AF, not my norm.

By the end of the month was preparing (mentally) for ablation. Just needed to schedule. Then at the same time I finally surrendered and started using by cpap, since my MD stressed how extremely important it was etc.

Since using cpap in November no a-fib.

Going back to see MD to discuss.

Any similar experiences out there?

Thank U

Hi Bob, Yes, Thank U!

I had to go for a text and... the anesthesiologist scared the living daylights out of me. He was brutally honest, informative about sleep apnea in addition to AF. I needed that. I would be out of this world happy if I could get off the meds. Like I'm sure all of us would be. We'll see what happens. All the best :-)

I have used CPAP for 5 years now & undoubtedly its improved my QOL but I still have occasional AF but take only anticoagulants- no other AF meds but in the UK it’s recommended that we will continue with a/c for life, whether or not AF episodes stop.

I know same opinion with my MD here Re AF. Yes, QOL is much better. Yet, I'm hoping that if I'm AF free maybe I can get off meds. Will have to wait and see if any episodes. Most important is good health for all, best wishes!
