Barrier for RA and other questions
I have been diagnosed with stage 2 PC. I am about to undergo radiation and the protocol is to insert some gold guides - I assume to help pinpoint the machine and a barrier between the prostate and rectum. I understandg these will be inserted transperenially [sic] but how will they be removed - or will

Seven years ago, I had a quintuple bypass and a heart valve reconstruction. I am on atorvastatin atenolol lisinopril tamsulosin finasteride. My lab work of these years has been kept in the green for the most part. I’ve been hearing a lot lately about how statins have side effects, and how cholesterol

Blood pressure medication
I've been on Ramipril and Bendroflumethiazide for years to manage hypertension, associated with T2 diabetes, and subsequently AF came into play, with betablockers and Rivaroxaban. But my blood pressure still kept creeping up, so the GP threw Doxazosin into the mix. This got the BP down to a better level

PAF and Tamsulosin
I was prescribed Tamsulosin for enlarged prostate and shortly after I had my first episode of AF. This went on for about 8 years getting AF approximately once a month which lasted about 6 to 8 hours. Anyway, three years ago I went privately to see a Urologist who after several tests and scans said that

This is some background. I was recently diagnosed with enlarged prostate. My general health is not good as I had a Triple Bypass and Mitral Valve Repair and also, last year was diagnosed with Heart Failure. I’ve also got Severe Spinal Stenosis which has returned following a Failed Laminectomy Spine

Overactive bladder
I'm suffering terribly with OAB - both night and day it's getting to be that I'm afraid to go out in day without wearing a pair of "nappy pants", also sometimes wear pad in bed but I'm near the bathroom so not too difficult to reach in time. It means I'm up about every hour so no sleep really. I'm

Tamsulosin (Flomax) causing/increasing AF?
I’ve been taking Tamsulosin for almost 5 yrs ago. AF starts just this February. Just read it’s side effects more closely, and noticed one NIH paper and another source, mentioned causing AF as a rare side effect. Have stopped it, and will look for an alternative if need be. Anyone else noticed any correlation

Medications that reduce an overactive bladder
Since I've been on prednisolone my trips to the loo during the night have increased tremendously. I'm not sure if this is due to waking frequently and my body thinking that it's time for the morning loo trip but it seems that whenever I lie down for any period of time it starts up, even if I lie on

I have asked for advice on this forum before but my bladder problems are causing distress. Because I cannot take Solifenacin though it worked well as far as the constant need to pee. It caused me terrible constipation which even with laxitives was difficult. Now my urethra is sore and some pain.

Stopped Solifenacin
Because of constipation side effect which was very unpleasant. Decided to come off Solifenacin. With my GP agreeing. Two weeks in and the withdrawal symptoms have been awful. Worst of all the pressure of wanting to pee all the time is worse than when I first started them. My GP has said she will

Insomnia possible due to Tamsulosin
Hi All, I suffer from insomnia and depression and was prescribed mirtazipine a number of years ago. It was effective for the insomnia although I put-on a good bit of weight. I found this acceptable as I was sleeping again. However, I am now having issues with my prostate, my PSA levels are mildly elevated

How long of a delay in treatment is too long? And how does weak urinary flow interface with RT?
I canceled my RP after some of you gently suggested that I get a second opinion from an RO. I will now be treated by Dr. Biagioli at the SMH Radiation Oncology Center here in Sarasota, FL. But I also had a long Zoom consultation with Dr. Pow-Sang, Chair of Uro/Gyn at the highly regarded Moffitt Center

need advice
I have been taking tamsulosin quite few years, but it’s stop working . Struggling because I can’t take a lot of other prescription medication for enlarge prostate . Was on combodart until 2013 . It caused me to faint several times, so was then prescribed current medication Tamsulosin . Which did work

PSA doubled after starting Tamsulosin
Hello, I would like to know if anyone had a similar problem with Tamsulosin. I have had 3 PSA tests in the last 6 weeks. The first 2 PSA tests (taken with a catheter) I had the same PSA of 13.97. The last PSA (without catheter and taking Tamsulosin) my result was 26.17. Is this rise in PSA normal
