1st Step
Potassium has creeped just above acceptable and even though we do not use salt or processed foods my blood
sodium
is above range. All signs that this step is needed. My primary doctor on Monday said I'm going to feel so much better when dialysis starts. So I have to take this step.

Signs of compensating?
He quit drinking immediately, his belly has gone down a lot, he’s not as jaundiced as he was, he’s eating a very low
sodium
and organic diet (fruit, veggies, a little lean meat, protein smoothies). He feels and looks so much better. Are these positive signs that his liver is compensating?

Prednisone makes up for the glucocorticoids but why is there no therapy given for the mineralocortoids which upsets the
sodium
and potassium balance. This leads to a condition called hypoaldosteronism which leads to higher blood pressure.

Help with supplements/dosing please?
- I note my
sodium
level is just under range but my thyroid hormones were below range just before this test was done and I understand low
sodium
can be caused by an underactive thyroid. Is this something to be concerned about?

No medicines are working on my daughter. Tried Movicol with senna/ sodium picosulphte/ biscodyl.
She was, through the consultant increased to double the recommended dose of
sodium
picosulphte (20ml) and movicol was continued for 21 day instead of 14. Dispite this she would poo small amounts of poop of paste consistency.
