Its my turn to worry now
Well, after over two years of stable numbers, I had a 4 point drop in my GFR. My creatinine also went up. I am frustrated but I am not going to let that stop me. I feel fine and I asked my nephrologist to retest me in a month. All of my other labs look fine or stable. I have not had blood tests in

Feeling hopeless...
So I arrived at my boyfriends a couple of hours ago, went to the loo, and became very ill very quickly. Bad stomach pain, stomach cramps, loose motions, alot. I started feeling very hot and anxious. I've taken Imodium to calm it down but I feel so so hopeless. I was just crying for an hour because I

Iodine for injections and hyperthyroidism
Any nine have hyperthyroidism? I am suspected of having this as I had done very dodgy TSH and T3 results and am having further blood tests a day after my next injection. I read somewhere that iodine can make hyperthyroidism work and since it’s squirted straight onto the eye prior to an injection I wonder

Abbreviations
Hi everyone, I’m new to all this so please excuse my ignorance. I’m not understanding some of the abbreviations, RAI I know as I had this treatment earlier in the year, what does NDT stand for? I’m finding the site very useful, much better than my consultant who leaves me frustrated and angry!!!

Late Update with my blood results - need help
I've been meaning to get back since last posts with my blood results but life catches up. I had a few probs that came up earlier this year which gave me a bit of a jolt. I had eye problems and of course it was over the weekend so I had to go to the Emergency at the Eye Hospital. After extensive tests

T3 Liothyronine that doesn't contain sodium?
Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of T3 that doesn't contain sodium chloride? I have been suffering with water retention since starting on Tiromel and wondered if I'm sensitive to the fillers/sodium. T3 definitely helps me and I don't want to stop, but would like to find one that doesn't cause this

New test results
Hi everyone I had a private blood test done in July showing hashimotos and I also had amazing advice on here saying my T4-T3 conversion was extremely poor. I had RAI in 2011 for hyper and am now hypo. Unsure if I had graves before that. I’ve requested my medical history but it’ll probably take ages

Dry mouth? Anxiety?
Hello everyone. My mouth started getting dry the passed Friday? I believe? And it seems like no matter how much water I drink it won’t go away. Ive been having bad anxiety the last week as well and I wonder if this is something that happens with others regularly. I have health anxiety and I always fear

Does anyone have low CO2 readings on their labs?
Curious is anyone else has low CO2 readings on your labs? Mine had been at 22 for over a year and then this last lab, dropped to 19. (My labs in general were not great with some decline. My doctor was not too concerned and said to increase my sodium citrate that I take. But, I was feeling really crappy

Anyone had rashes, possible psoriasis, after starting on Levo?
Had RAI in January, started Levothyroxine 50mcg in April. Developed a dreadfully dry and itchy scalp plus numerous other weird, itchy rashes on my body. Has anyone any experience of this. When first mentioned to my consultant he dismissed it, the endo nurse thinks it may be a reaction to the brand and

Electrolytes
I've read something on here or may be another forum about drinking an electrolyte drink for Afib. It makes sense because I, and I'm sure others, suffer from increased urination from metoprolol. And increased urination can deplenish the body of our needed electrolytes. I've also read that metoprolol can

CT Scan with AF
Good morning everyone. Has anyone here been for a a CT Scan whilst in AF? I have a scan next week and I've been in persistent AF for the last 3 weeks. The reason I ask is because for some people the Iodine dye causes palpitations and elevated HR. Tim

SALT!
Remember that the average body NEEDS 6gm of salt a day and that it's insulin, not sodium that drives hypertension. Insulin hangs on to sodium, sodium increases blood volume which drives up blood pressure and thus elevates pressure on the kidneys. Typical of anyone with T2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome

VEG 1
I've been using the VEG 1 supplement for about a year but have discovered that one of the components, iodine, is something I shouldn't supplement as doing so is likely to increase the risk of auto immune attack on the thyroid.
