VEG 1
I've been using the VEG 1 supplement for about a year but have discovered that one of the components, iodine, is something I shouldn't supplement as doing so is likely to increase the risk of auto immune attack on the thyroid. As I have a thyroid disorder this is not acceptable to me. I need to find

Bowel problems
I am starting my third round of chemo as I have had bowel changes and it was found the cancer had grown around the bowel which my oncologist says it could make it sluggish. But my problem is that I’m emptying my bowels up to 8 times a day and I’m very loose which stops me going anywhere for fear or soiling

Help with weight gain after reducing my thyroxine
Hi I had Graves’ disease when I was 28 I eventually had RAI in 1996. My question is thyroxine. I’ve been taking 725mcg a week. My doctor reduced from 750 2 years ago as I was hyper but since reducing I’m 2 stone heavier and depressed. I was on antidepressants Citalopram. I stopped them 2 months ago.

RADIUM... My dad is extremely exhausted and weak since started RADIUM 223 a week ago . Xtandi started 3 weeks ago. Please Respond.
Hi my heroes! Can you please tell me what to expect and how to advise him ? Please share your experiences and progress as well. All hope and smiles 😊 welcome! My dad loves to be on the go and he feels floored since radium. For him to sleep all day or wake up past 12 just isn't him, but thankfully he

Vegan Supplements
This is relevant to my previous post but it seems I can't add an attachment to a reply, only an original post. However, as the supplement I take at the moment contains iodine I should stop using it as there's a suspicion I may have Hashimoto's. As I'm vegan I've been using the vegan societies VEG 1,

Non- Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism - causes
Hi everyone I was diagnosed with non- Hashimoto’s 25 years ago at the age of 25 when my GP was looking for an explanation for severe headaches that I’d had since I was a child. I had my TSH tested which came back as 25 with no antibodies present. One thing I’ve never had an answer to is what the cause

Dealing with balanitis since March - suggestions?
Hi all - looking for some advice on what to do. I've been suffering from recurrent balanitis since March. Same pattern as others: treatments offer relief, but it eventually comes back once stopping them (sometimes even while treatment is ongoing). Symptoms in my case seem milder than what I've read

Radium 223 disaster
Feb my PSA started to rise (it was 0.028 most of last Summer) the RO said it's normal for PSA to rise during this treatment so didn't worry, they were happy with my blood counts and said things seem to going well, July my PSA got to 75 and started to become concerned, the pain in my legs started to increase

Happy Day!
A few weeks ago I had my annual appointment (an on-line one this time) with my EP, Dr. Rodney Horton at TCAI in Austin. He told me that my chance of my Afib being fixed are statistically 96 percent. I do not need to follow up with him unless my heart decides to act up again. I am thrilled as it has been

Any advice? Can’t take carbimazole
Hi all. Mine is a bit of a long story but I’d be interested in your thoughts. At the beginning of June, I started having palpitations, racing heart rate, breathlessness etc. Went to GP who did a whole bunch of bloods. All were normal except: TSH <0.02 [0.3-5] free t3 42.2 [3.1-6.8] I was put on 40mg

Do some adding T3 feel worse before they get better?
Hi everyone, Having reduced my NDT down to 1/2 grain daily and up to adding 10mcg of T3 daily (DIO2 pos/ Hashi's) TSH now back in range for the 1st time in 5years, FT4 now out of range, and FT3 in. Has anyone experienced feeling worse with increase T3 ie like a hangover, weak legs, unusual headache, nausea

Levo only
Out of interest, does anyone on here get on okay with just levothyroxine if you can find the right dose? I have had thyroid problems since I was thirteen and been undertreated (although diagnosed CFS) since I had RAI when I was 17. I honestly don't know what normal feels like, how will I know when I

Any advice on a good multivitamin support
After RAI I take 125mcg levo which seems to be balanced out, my energy levels and physical capabilities are not the same as before. I'm due for another blood test soon but wondered if there's a multivitamin to help keep me optimal. I've seen that i can get a discount using a Thyroid UK discount code

Chronic boils anyone?
I'm stage 3b due to chronic kidney infections causing "inflammatory changes." I take activated Vit B6, antioxidants, sodium bicarb and get prolonged sun exposure (Vit D). My immune system doesn't seem to be compromised. I caught my first cold in years and it was super mild and only lasted 3 days.

Please help , im in Northern Ireland - Anyone find a really good Endo here? (Any info by private message please)
I've finally managed to get through to my GP -(hurrah! must have be a moment when my brain fog cleared)- to agree to give me a referral to see an endo. My Gp has very limited knowledge of thyroid issues , and treating by TSH only, so my symptons over the years following RAI in 2008 have been getting
