Abbreviations

Hi everyone, I’m new to all this so please excuse my ignorance. I’m not understanding some of the abbreviations, RAI I know as I had this treatment earlier in the year, what does NDT stand for?

I’m finding the site very useful, much better than my consultant who leaves me frustrated and angry!!!

NDT = Natural Desiccated Thyroid, made from the dried, ground thyroid glands of pigs (in prescription brands like Armour or Naturethroid) or cows (available as supplements).

NDT is Natural Desiccated Thyroid - the original treatment for hypothyroidism which generally was no longer prescribed once synthetic thyroxine was introduced.
