Ray Peat & Thyroid Wisdom
Hi all :) I've mentioned a few times on this forum that the Keto/carnivore diet is the reason for my devastating decline into overt hypothyroidism where I became unresponsive to synthetics. Since that time, I've used this forum as well as the teachings of American physiologist Ray Peat to educate myself

Gaviscon dilemma
Earlier this week I had a call from the pharmacist at my GP practice. He was calling to review my meds which seems to be the latest practise at my docs. I told him I had stopped Omeprazole and was just using Gaviscon at night to control acid reflux as it wasn't too bad at the moment and that I thought

Advice please, night tremours/seizures,hypothyroid
I was diagnosed as 'borderline' hypothyroid about 5 years ago. I take 75 mg daily well before breakfast. Sept 22 suddenly started having major tremours (body totally leaving the bed, freezing cold, tingling extremities, mainly starts 1am, tremours 3 - 5 am) That day I have small tremours, increased heart

Trying to understand appetite / cravings
I have an advanced background in human nutrition but am totally new to thyroid issues and am trying to understand something. I've noticed since I've been treated (T4 and T3 split tid) that at times I am hungrier than usual. I understand the increased metabolism from thyroid correction, but is there anything

Thyroidectomy
Hi there, I would really appreciate some advice from anyone that has had Graves disease/hyperthyroidism and had a total Thyroidectomy. I tried RAI back in Sept 2021 but it was unsuccessful and then caused TED. Diagnosed with Graves disease in Sept 2018 and have been taking Carbimazole ever since.

Serum iodine test, UK
Has anyone in the UK had a serum iodine test and can recommend a postal test supplier? I had one 6y ago done by Doctors Lab via Blue Horizon but there is some doubt if it can be done via post (I await confirmation but seek options anyhow). I live well away from London where I believe it could be done

Self medicating again: Wanting to try changing 200mcg T4 to T4/T3 combo
Hi, I have had RAI so have to use full exogenous replacement. Currently on 200 mcg thyroxine. Tried armour, T4 only, but T4/T3 combo I never got right - I found my anxiety is unbearable. Trying to do it correctly this time. The fatigue and moodiness on T4 sucks, even though my endo says my labs are

Expiration date
After reading about the (supposed?) shortage of B12 in UK, I, too, am wondering if PanPharma’s shortened expiration date from 2 years to one year has contributed to this perceived shortage. Have we gotten the final answer on why PanPharma shortened their expiry date? Does anyone know if the inactive

Ok, so since having RAI when I take vitamin D I get tinnitus in my left ear, I have been trying to find the reason for 4 years, anyway, I am trying to take it again (only been 2 days) as not surprisingly I'm very low in it because I hate taking it because the noise in my ear gets unbearable. I have

At least 10 yrs ago I had a primary physician tell me I most likely have IBS. My bowel movements were always large and I always thought how in the world can a women produce such long logs in a BM. Three months ago in June, I spent two days in the hospital with what the doctors diagnosed as Hyponatremia
