Not new to ARBs or Beta Blockers. Not new to knowing my body does not take medication well. New to Entresco and suffering very loose bowels, not normal for me !!! Have given it 2 Months to settle but no signs of this appending. Don’t want to give up on gold standard med. Has anyone any advice on coping with this. Anyone tried long term Imodium

i try splitting my tablets. half at 9am, half at 11am, then half at 4pm then half at 6pm. I find the entresto isn't as intense this way. Also avoiding taking food right after it or with food seems to help.,

Hi theonethatgotaway. I’m on 24/26 twice daily. Tend to take first one when I get up. Maybe with or after first cuppa. The evening one at bed time so way after eating. not really able change much about that. Wonder might try half first thing, then other half lunchtime, then half maybe 4ish. Then last half before bed. Will give that a go fora bit and see if that has any effect. Don’t really want to give up on it yet. As am told it’s gold standard tab. Want to try and manage it. Thanks for your reply appreciate your view and experience.

take mine after breakfast, check the leaflet in the box. Found pharmacists helpful on such matters. No problem with Entresto, just about to have dose increased.

Ummmmm did check and no particular instructions regarding food. And really really can’t stomach food in the mornings have tried but just can’t face it. You have a point I will try and speak to the pharmacist attached to my surgery. Local shop one does not appear to me as reliable enough knowledge of heart conditions.

I’ve taken entresto for years. I’m not sure because I have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) so I wouldn’t know if it’s the IBS or entresto. I couldn’t tolerate 2 twice a day. I was feeling faint and dizzy, so my cardiologist as put it down to me not being able to tolerate an higher dose.

Thank you Deejay all comments or experiences are helpful. The Patient leaflet says it can be taken with or without food, and I just can’t stomach eating in the morning. So going to try taking the morning one at lunchtime with food. Then second when going to bed. If still the same, I may try cutting it down to one tab, then, monitor my blood pressure for a fortnight and see if that makes any difference to either bowels or pressure. I can then present consultant with evidence and a possible compromise.

My first I take with a slice of toast and a cup of tea because I can’t cope with heavy breakfast. I’ve even been known to have a few crackers instead of toast. I take my 2nd at 6pm with warfarin and I have a light supper and I never have problems. It does lower your blood pressure a lot of these tablets do even the water tablets.

Don’t like to give up without trying everything. I have been taking tabs for blood pressure & beta blockers for failing heart for forty odd years. And every change has taken a while to find the right one. Strangely though and that’s why I know my body is a strange one 😂😂 is I took a water tab as part of cocktail in my 30s for about 10 years. Accepted a moderate weight gain over the years as middle age spread. But all of a sudden they withdrew the water tab from market. Doc said try without it and 3 months later I spent a month peeing constantly and went from dress size 14 to a small 10. !!! So my body has never reacted to meds conventionally lol

once you’re not putting on weight that’s the main thing, and you feel well that’s even better.
