I presented to GP with ascities, jaundice and pain in around abdomen. Sent me straight to hospital. Fungus used in Chinese medicine improves sleep in rodents (and also impacts glutamine/glutamate)
This isn't an easy read but, if the results can be relied on, looks promising https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8837518/ Abstract Ganoderma resinaceum is a valuable Chinese medicine. This study aimed to investigate whether a G. resinaceum alcohol extract (GRAE) improves sleep, and analyze

Radium 223 -Is this tumour flare?
I started Radium 223 therapy on Tuesday and since then I suffered from general stiffness and pain from the back of the pelvis down to the lower leg. I was wondering if anyone else had suffered these symptoms and if it was tumour flare? Thanks

The monster has struck!
Good news this morning -I was told that I might be discharged tomorrow. All my monitors were removed in the morning including the temporary pacemaker and ECG. I went for a couple of walks on the ward which went quite well. I checked my pulse rate manually afterwards and all was steady at about 70bpm

Spirulina - any advice or experiences?
As you can see from previous posts, I have struggled to bring my iron and b vitamin levels up for a while, despite increasing my intake of both supplements...this has led me to look at spirulina as something that could possibly help, as there are quite a few reviews of this product from people saying

How can I gain weight on Kidney friendly diet?
I have CKD Stage 3b and am working with a nutritionist and adhering to a kidney friendly diet, but keep losing weight. I have a high metabolism and have always had a problem keeping weight on, but this diet is not providing me with enough high calorie options. My nutritionist advised me to eat more nuts
