I got my energy back and got rid of all the symptoms...
I got rid of my symptoms when I got enough potassium. It took me some time to find out (browsing research results on pubmed) that one of the reasons hyperthyroidism can be dangerous is that high levels of thyroid hormone depletes the body of potassium. Bicarbonate of soda eased my ectopics
Hi all I have been writing to members describing a potential relief I have experienced from my lifelong VEB's. Please disregard. It seems that the effects of taking sodium bicarbonate can be severe and include violent diarrhoea and other issues. So I will just keep on with my magnesium tablets and anti-depressants

Can anyone help me interpret / argue my blood results to my GP?
Hi, I had a full run of bloods last week which have all been signed off as "satisfactory" by the GP. This doesn't solve anything, as I'm still so exhausted that I sleep through 3 alarms including a sunlight alarm clock every morning and can barely keep my eyes open all day. I'd be really grateful

New Blue Horizons Vitamin and Mineral test!
Hi everyone I've been supplementing as suggested by our excellent experts for a while, and wanted to see how things were looking. I'd previously failed to find a cost-effective way of testing Selenium and Magnesium in particular, and this new Blue Horizons test covers all the key vits and minerals for

Fluoxetine severe reaction and withdrawals
I was on Lofepramine for about six years. Unfortunately before Christmas it became unavailable due to two of the manufacturers relocating. In January my GP transferred me onto fluoxetine after tapering down the Lofepramine. Almost from day 1 of taking the fluoxetine I got severe migraines on a daily

Please help with return of symptoms - GP says he has no explanation
I was diagnosed in March 2018 Blood test TSH level 5.1 I was given 50 micro grams of Levothyroxine. This made me feel a lot less tired and all my other symptoms went. I stopped putting weight on but still couldn’t lose any. I felt like I could have benefited from a tiny bit more Levothyroxine but blood

New Test Results (feedback please) and Mixed Endo Results (US)
I would love some feedback on these labs from you wonderful people. Met with endo and they completed first round of testing (after gp refused to do any increase in NDT medication even though symptoms AND fT3/4 levels were worse). There was good and bad. Endo will not do rT3, saliva cortisol, active

Chronic Diarrhea, potential IBS?? Advice please as doctors aren’t helping!
Hi there, I’m not sure if anyone can help me here but I’m struggling a lot with Diarrhea. Since the first week of jan this year I’ve had an ‘urgent’ feeling of needing to go to the toilet. I’m a nanny and have to take the children to school at 7:40am and it’s usually around 8am mid-drive that it kicks

Went out to dinner
I have a question. It's hardly the most important posted here, but one I suspect we've all faced. I am 57 years old, stage 3b and on a reduced sodium and potassium diet. I've been sticking to it pretty well. But last night I went out to dinner. There was no nutritional information available, so I

Recently Diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis
Hi All, Unfortunately my father is diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis 3 weeks back. He is diabetic since last 17 years. He never really had alcohol. Recently during our small family vacation, his legs had swelling - which often appeared during travelling due to legs hanging but disappeared after a night

Are Imodium Instants better than loperamide?
I usually buy unbranded loperamide for diarrhoea but have noticed several people mentioning Imodium Instants. Looking at the packet, they don`t seem to be much different from Loperamide and are a lot more expensive. I wondered if really do work faster or is it just a marketing ploy?

Sodium Flouride PET/CT Scan Cost
My husband is coming up on his last two rounds of Docetaxel, and then it's time for his follow-up scan to see how well the chemo worked. Well, called to make the appointment, and I was told that Medicare no longer pays for that particular scan. His MO feels it's very important to compare apples-to-apples
