ACR Ratio Confusion
My PCP has issued labs to monitor my kidneys. To date no formal diagnosis. My blood sodium, potassium, creatinine; always in the normal range. My urine pH, Protein, Glucose, Ketones, Erythrocytes, Nitrate, and Leukocytes are also always in the normal range. Two generations of Acute Nephritis in family

Comments, advice, info, etc
I was dx with CKD, Phase3, in 2018. GRF stayed between 55-60, I spill protein and have since being dx with diabetes in 2003. In the last 8 months or so, protein in urine has gone way up, as has my potassium. Now trying to stay low potassium, cutting sodium. My question is: I rarely salt my food

Hi all, Was wondering if anyone could offer advice on my latest test results? I was also being tested for diabetes at the same time so unsure if some of the results are from that test. T3, T4 and TSH all look within normal ranges to me but Sodium and Potassium are out of normal range and don’t know

Has anyone tried Mirtazapine?
My doctors put me on these. I’d say there great for sleeping but don’t seem to be helping anything else. I am still using codeine to control the symptoms. I don’t use them every day. But I find they work. The most I use is 3 or maybe 4 on a bad day. I prefer them to Imodium because for some reason Imodium

Adcal or not
Sorry I'm unable to cut and paste. A recent letter to a doctor in the newspaper asked about having taken Lansoprazole for a problem can cause bones to thin. Recently diagnosed with advanced Osteoporosis she has been prescribed AA and Adcal. The doctor suggests that calcium carbonate would be better changed

Staying on the Path
After having multiple back surgeries I became extremely inactive afraid to move because of pain. This led to weight gain and I developed diabetes. That was my wake up call. A tip from a fellow panic attacker who thinks can help us ...
Hello all. Today, I had a 74 yr old lady (who suffers from panic attacks) tell me she finally found something that has helped her! I have not tried or done this yet but thought I'd pass it along to my friends to see if they've heard of it, or have tried it before. She drastically reduced the sodium intake

I.B.S AND THE PROBLEMS.
I.B.S. destroys your life in so much as the simple things like a walk, drive in the car, going out socially, yoga-you name it, is a real problem. Wearing special disposable pants, incontinence type disposable sheets underneath the main sheet and how do you regulate say imodium and peppermint oil capsules

Electrolytes and postpartum psychosis
Hey!Recently i read an article, where it was explained that lithium is used as a mood stabilizer due to its capacity to have an impact on ionic in-cell balance and also on transportation of ions of sodium and calcium between cells. And that the imbalances of sodium may be one of the causes of depression

Random Joke Generator, which joke did you find funny?
They say, never go to bed angry. I say, never start your day with a negative thought. I found this joke generator ( https://generatorfun.com/joke-generator ), the joke below in particular made me laugh. Let me know if you see a funny joke in the generator, or have one of your own... A chemist walks

Cancer Doctor Recommends Xofigo (Radium 223) Because PSA is Rising Again After 10 Months of ADT with Firmagon and Zytiga
My PSA started rising again 2 months ago. It is now at 37. The highest PSA was 160 when this all started about a year ago. Testosterone is still negligible. Recent bone scan shows some improvement in old bone metastases but a couple of new ones just popped up. The VA oncologist is scheduling me for

I have suffered from IBS all my life (i`m in my 60s), mainly with occasional bouts of diarhoea and pain, but about 5 years ago the symptoms changed. I needed to go to the loo at least 5 times every day but didn`t have diarhoea and struggled to pass motions even when they were soft, and always felt
