Hi I am now living in France from U.K. I have been on sera tide 500 x 2 puffs a day for years. For my asthma. I also have mild bronchiectasis. My lung capacity has gradually reduced over recent years. Peak flow used to be 250 but recently below 180. My doctor in France said seratide was old fashioned

Class 4 Medicines Defect Information, Syonell: sodium valproate
From time to time, members have mentioned taking sodium valproate. For that reason, it might be worth my posting this new MHRA alert. [i]

Food Database Link
I saw a post with a link to a very nice nutritional food list. It had page after page of foods with calories, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, etc. Does anyone have the link to that database/spreadsheet of foods? Thank you!

What is your take on Soybean? 🧐🤔
Edamame has always been my favorite snack since I was little. I usually steam and sprinkle a little bit of sea salt. You may find edamame prepared the same way as appetizer when you go to a sushi restaurant. I found many health benefits from edamame but one thing I’m concerned is phytoestrogen or isoflavones

Happy with gfr going up but....
I just got my 3 month bloodwork back...first one after dropping into 3a category kidney disease in January. My family doctor was useless and I still wouldn’t know about having kd if I didn’t check my bloodwork results online myself. For the last 2 years my gfr dropped from 85 (2019) to 54 (this past

Help with my results
Hi Friends, I got my results back today and i've attached below. Doctor sad i'm a bit low and to up my Levo... to 125 from 100. She'll also send my results to an endocrinologist and see what they recommend, this could take awhile. I was hoping that someone would be able to help me understand my results

Protein
Protein. A lot is made of the need for high protein and yet: " a high protein diet is bad for you. Growth hormone pathways, including TOR and IGF-1, are controlled by proteins and they are accelerators of the aging process. So, if you have a low-protein diet you might live longer and healthier." https

Weather
I was just wondering if anyone else is finding problems breathing. I’ve used my ventolin and it was better for a minute or two but now it’s difficult to breathe again. My peak flow I’snt too bad. It’s about 400.

Protein Considerations
A couple of weeks ago I posted that I'd been knocked back for a blood donation. That got my attention. I also mentioned that I hadn't been eating too much meat of late. Thinking back I realised I'd got into a bad habit of just grabbing a piece of cheese, a few nuts and cups of coffee with double cream

How many carbs a day are considered low carb?
I have read through quite a few posts and I'm curious as to what qyantity a day group members consider as low carb. Personally I think its important as to whether the carbs are derived from natural food or food that has undergone minimal processing compared to highly / ultra processed foods (especially

Diabetic Toothpaste ? Yes, you have read correctly , Colgate , the world leader in Toothpaste, now has launched a Toothpaste for Diabetes.
If you are using any commercial toothpaste , if you read through the list of ingredients , you will find a dozen of Synthetic chemical additives in it- some are preservatives, some are foaming agents, some are cleansing agents, some are dispersing agents, some are for flavour and many such things . But

I’ve had loads of blood tests, scopes, (last colonoscopy 19 months ago), loads of biopsies and everything is clear. I believe mine is stress related, I’m on sertraline (anxiety) and amitriptyline (bowel

Potassium in the diet
I know that too much salt in the diet is not good for you, so for many many years I've been using (sparingly) so-called "50% sodium salt, which is a mixture of 50% sodium chloride and 50% potassium chloride. It's readily available in supermarkets as a means of reducing your sodium intake. I've now had

Using Vitalograph asma-1 monitor
Good morning all!* *feeling slightly delirious after 8 steroids and 4 hours sleep last night due to my asthma... :) I recently bought a Vitalograph asma-1 monitor as like many of you I find that my usual peak flow doesn't really pick up on how bad my asthma gets - had a bad week with the warm weather

More on Gut Microbiome and Akkermansia muciniphila
Recently pjoshea posted on this topic: Optimizing our gut microbiome with prebiotics (that create an optimized environment for beneficial microbes) and probiotics (the colony forming beneficial bacteria to repopulate the gut).
