Coughing Fits
Hello I'm in a bit of unchartered territory at the moment so would really appreciate some advice from fellow sufferers who may have more experience dealing with it. I was diagnosed with asthma as a baby and had it throughout childhood. When I reached my teens it vastly improved to the point I didn't

Preparation for Treatment Decisions 90 Days after Immunotherapy Stopped.
When I ran a business, I always prepared an agenda. I find that taking the time to write things down and review them sets the agenda and keeps meetings moving in a positive direction while avoiding the possibility that something important gets lost. The week before last, I exercised moderately a few

"normal" FEV1 and PF, and Small Airway Inflammation
My peak flow and my FEV1 are higher than the predicted, even when I get sick (for me <700 on the PF bad news, so is 110% on the FEV1). I found a few research papers on pubmed suggesting that PF and FEV1 are only sensitive to the medium to large airway function, and not sensitive to the small airway

I'm new here & have benefited from your posts
Hello everyone. I've "lurked" on here since my husband was diagnosed with severe liver disease in March 2021. He gave up alcohol the day he was admitted to hospital and I'm so proud of him for sticking with it determinedly. We're 4 months on and he's been through several ascitic drains, feeling terrible

I have enquiry about options treatment after fostair
Hi everyone, I am on fostair for more than one year, I still have daily flare ups and breathless, I had talked with my doctor, so he told this is maximum medication they can give me, not first time he says that, and he is manager of my GP, my peak flow is fine about 600, but I feel daily symptoms and

Making Good Choices can Pay Off.
I've just received my latest battery of routine blood test results...all 18 of them!!.... and was very happy to see that every single result was within normal parameters and with 'no further action required' for any of them. This felt like a huge achievement, particularly as I'd recently stopped taking

Low stomach acid tests
I asked some questions about B12 and Diarrhoea here: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/145437733/vit-b12-and-diarrhoea Some people came back suggesting that low stomach acid (hypochlorhydria or achlorhydria) is a cause of stomach acid. I did the sodium bicarbonate "burp" test and it seems I might

Peak flow increased by inhalers
I've had asthma all my life and more recently got referred to a specialist due to my asthma being not controlled. The doctor has been amazing and I feel my asthma has been taken seriously. I used to take seretide 2 puffs twice a day, and ventolin when needed. My peak flow used to be at my very best 360

Struggling with symptoms
Hello everyone. I am new to the group but not new to systemic mastocytosis. My skin is fairly stable although am covered with the mastocytosis rash it is generally ok. However my gastric problems are escalating at the moment. I ran out of sodium cromoglycate when there was a shortage and was off them

Data driven fasting
https://optimisingnutrition.com/data-driven-fasting/ Hunger Training is really interesting, and might be useful for beginning fasters and those who haven't been able to make it work for them. It's basically using a blood glucose (fingerprick) meter to learn when when are really hungry and gradually

Face to Face Rheumatology Visit yesterday
I just thought I'd share my experience yesterday. I'd had a phone call with him in June and from that he ordered lots of blood tests, a chest x-ray. chest CT scan, abdo CT scan and dexascan. He stepped in the room (only just - stood in the doorway as if he wasn't staying) and introduced himself then

www.I can bore a glass eye to sleep/is this as good as it gets.com
I am not sure whether it was the consequence of my application of reverse psychology or my-on the whole-affable GP suddenly having an epiphany, but the last couple of telephone consultations that I’ve had, have been quite constructive. I did however have to collect all the toys that were left littered

Curios
With 15% of kidneys working, can you go off the rails once in a GREAT while and have cheese pizza, fish and chips or fried chicken strips, or low sodium potato chips, maybe a BLT. The answer is probably no, but hope that once in a blue moon is okay.

House like a Pharmacy
After having another crappy night and day in pain I had a mild panic today when I thought I'd ran out of Rennie's, non left in the 'bedside pharmacy' so ran to the large shelf I now have in the kitchen. On opening the cupboard I was greeted with a large box of pain killers falling on my head, whilst
