Low peak flow: Hi, my peak flow is very... - Lung Conditions C...
Low peak flow
Did your peak flow used to be higher? If not, maybe 300 is your average. The averages given on charts are pretty meaningless. It’s whats normal for you that matters. Wishing you all the best 😊
What made you check your peak flow? Have you recently been diagnosed with a lung problem?
You haven't given us much to go on. Do you have a lung condition? If so, what is it?
Do you regularly check your peak flow morning and night? Have you been told that it is low?
Your peak flow expectancy is worked out using height, weight age etc so is different for everyone. If you used to do better and now can't, it would be a good idea to speak to your GP about it. xx Moy
Hi nsam,my peak flow is pretty much 300 most of the time going down to 250 when flare ups occur, what do you normally read and are you a respiratory/lung sufferer?
My peak flow is similar to yours has been for years I have COPD and Asthma. Ask your GP for more help on your norms. Good luck.
I have end stage COPD right ventricle heart failure. Old measurement my PF is no down to 250 on a good day 200 on new calibration. below that I am struggling not that I do not struggle every day. Perhaps you need to talk to respiratory team or GP.
Hi Sam, do you know what your Peak Flow should be? everyone is different. If I get around 300 I know I am ok. If your PF has dropped considerably what has changed, are you having problems with your breathing. It could be you are not using your inhalers properly. All these things will affect your PF, don't worry phone your GP now and ask for help. Take care, Maximonkey
