Sinemet

My question is to those that take sinemet, what does it do for you? Do your tremors go away completely ? How long does a pill seem to be effective ? Nauseous? Light headed, etc? I appreciate the input.

But sinemet -- ugh!

I know about food containing protein blocking the absorption of sinemet, but I seem to have a high degree of need for protein in my diet. How should I best manage this problem?

The sinemet is defo the culpret as unless anticipating exercise any increase in sinemet starts off dyskinesia which is g etting more pronounced and tiring so its not just me that notices. Once the unwanted movements start they persist regardless at what stage of medication I am.

I don't really feel the sinemet does anything for me. Does anyone else feel funny when they walk? Thank you

He is taking Sinemet 25/100 just upped to 5 times a day. My question, does the fatigue ever subside, he walks twice a day and is taking Tia Chi.

I can add these but do they interact with any meds > She is taking sinemet, Mirapex, meds for throid etc . main issues post pneumonia is daytime sleepiness, balance , low energy , issues with walking (too much sitting doesn't help - making her do the bke 30 mins) and incontinence .

I am having DBS surgery this fall, but in the meantime, am taking 10 Sinemet 25/100 tabs daily. On/off periods are the norm, so I am considering wearing the patch. Looking for anyone with experience (good/bad) with the patch.. Thanks!!

As soon as I started on sinemet I started packing the pounds on, mainly in my mid-section. I understand this is not uncommon for PwP 60 years and upward (weight LOSS is more common for younger parkies). Have you dealt with this problem? What works for you?

I did experiment with no Sinemet at all. I found that the day/night sleep reversal that had required me to use it in the first place was no longer happening. However, without any Sinemet I found my tremor became annoying.

So, she prescribed Sinemet a month ago, and right now I take 2 25-100s. a day. It definitely works for me. I've noticed though it doesn't last until the next dose is due. I go back to the neurologist in a few days so it might be upped.

To start with, an update, I am back on the MP, no Sinemet at least unless I hit another obstacle unforeseen. I hurt myself today eating some delicioooous bbq beef. It was soon after getting my dopamine right and I had been feeling pretty good actually.

I'm curious to know if others have experienced these symptoms when taking Sinemet? How soon does it kick in? Does it improve strength? Im currently taking seligiline twice a day with amantadine 3:day along with Premapexole 5 tablets 3 times A day. Thanks for your input.

He also finds Sinemet makes him very sleepy. Often he was overdosing through lack of confidence if he had a meeting to attend. The benefits of Atremorine were instant.

Okay I am confused too - Mom is taking sinemet with mirapex- then we started mucana ( a few doses a day) . The added NAC, and after that ALC and ALA - she has thyroid issues also // Lastly just introduced mannitol - 1/4 teaspoon with tea .. she has a horde of other meds also ..

I take 100/25 Sinemet every 1 1/2 to 2 hours up until 9:00pm then long acting which takes me to 0300. I've seen a naturopath doctor who has done more for me in 2 weeks than the neurology clinic has in 5 years... Does any one else have these symptoms and if so how do you deal with it...

I have just started taking Mucuna Pruiens and Sinement with a new prescription of Rasagiline. I have had two episodes where I have felt overly energized and a rush of energy with no Parkinson's symptoms but lasts about an hour and a half and feels as if I am on some type of speed. Has anyone taken

Today, my neurologist added Sifrol and increased Sinemet dosage from 3 to 4times a day. I was Dx with PD in 2014, September and I will be 61 years old soon.

I am also on Sinemet 25/100 3x/day. I would really appreciate any advice you can pass on. The article was very positive about the results. Many thanks. Barbara
