I started hi DHA Fish oil a week ago & have experienced PD symptom relief; resulting in a 50% reduction in my Sinemet. Anyone experience this? I hope the honeymoon lasts...
Hi DHA Fish Oil: I started hi DHA Fish oil... - Cure Parkinson's
Hi DHA Fish Oil
Good l will try. What brand and how many milligrams are you taking. Thanks
that’s wonderful news. I’m very happy for you and hope the honeymoon continues as well. 😊
Which symptoms in particular have you had help with?
Eating fatty fish, such as salmon, sardines or mackerel, twice a week can be even healthier than taking daily fish oil capsules. Fatty fish not only provides even more omega-3 fatty acids but also important proteins, vitamins, and minerals that are not found in capsules. Additionally, it contains antioxidants and promotes a feeling of fullness, which helps to avoid unhealthy snacks. The risk of side effects is also lower when consuming fish. While fish oil capsules are convenient, fatty fish remains a more nutritious choice and a greater culinary challenge. Maybe you don’t need any more medication at all 🙂
I couldn't agree more but eating fish comes with protein...and the slightest bit of protein really interferes with my c/l. So going with high dha fish oil i feel is the next best choice IMO
And some fish like salmon tend to bioaccumulate toxins
Pollution in fish is a significant issue, making it essential to critically evaluate the origin of the fish we consume. It is crucial to vary our choices by including different species, opting for wild-caught options, smaller fish, or safe farmed alternatives like our local trout farm.
Unfortunately, the same problem arises with the contamination of fish oil capsules, which are derived from the same fatty fish or algae. Therefore, it’s equally important to purchase from reputable brands. Just like with fish, the danger lies in the accumulation of these supposedly “safe” products.
A combination of fish consumption, fish oil capsules, and omega-3 from plant-based sources such as walnuts, flaxseeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, olive oil, tofu, kale, and eggs seems to be the most sensible approach. Variety is the key especially in the long term.
Great! Keep on improving...
Would you mind explaining:
1. How much fish oil and how many times a day?
2. Which brand of fish oil?
3. What improvement were felt by you and observed by you and others?
4. What made you realise that you need to lower your Sinemet? What were the indicators?
5. Any other information which you feel is important to share regarding this protocol or otherwise?
I followed Dr Mischleys instructions- 4G DHA/day. The brand she refers to in her video. I pour my measured daily dose into a shot glass & kind of sip it thru the day.
I started taking it b/c I thought I was starting dyskinesia- then I would 'forget' to take my meds b/c I felt 'fine', so I would take sinemet according to how I felt, rather than the clock. And when I felt wiggly, I would reduce my meds further.
My family and I are still in shock. I hope the honeymoon doesn't end ... we'll see.
Yes I have taken high dha fish oil and experienced reduction in my dyskinesia and helped with my sleep.I followed the brand and dose Laurie Mischley had suggested her patients take as described in this video.

1tbsp (4g) daily
Pharmax is the brand:
I have been taking Salmon oil for decades. I was diagnosed with PD in May 2019. I am sure my PD started many years before that. Maybe the oil slowed progression, but it did not stop progression. My view is fish oil is a supplement that should have been in your stack all along — I will continue to take, not because it reverses PD but because I fear that stopping will speed up progression.
Wonderful happy news for you. Thank you so much for sharing this. After watching the video there seems to be no reason the honeymoon doesn't becomes a strong happy marriage.
So does she keep the fish oil at those high doses after adding citicoline? Or come down on the fish oil? That's a lot of fish oil on a daily basis and I would have reactions if the source is shellfish.
i started the hi-DHA several weeks ago. same regimen as what dr. mischly suggests; 4g/day. just ordered more "amazon.com/gp/product/B08WH....
i had to use it to replace my 'tianma gou teng yin' which did not arrive on time. was stunned at how well it worked in combination with 2g/day nicotinamide riboside and 600mg/day ginkgo biloba.
my stack at the moment looks like this:
neuroRenew - prescribed by my naturopath - essentially b-complex
green sprouts - hoping to get nrf2 benefits
coq10 - prescribed by naturopath - anti-oxidant
ginkgo biloba - at/near the top of dr. mischly's 'what successful people do' list of suppllements
DHA - again, dr. mischly's video listed in a previous comment; regarding 'handling tremors'
tian ma - found in a clinical study to be one of the most prescribed TCM supplements
glycemic magnesium - cuz everything i read/watch says use it with PD
senna - for regularity
NOTE: i used to take c/l, 25/100; switched to mucuna puriens but haven't used either in 2 months. both just seemed to acerbate dyskinesia/dystonia.
my dr's are all ok with Walmart senna, 28mg tabs, daily for constipation. and it works well.
this stack is working really well for tremors, both foot and hand; dystonia, everywhere; cramping due to dystonia; sleeping like a baby now; and mood/energy good. i will continue to adjust it as time goes on and as need-be.
No C/L or Mucuna in 2 months?
Hi, did you gradually reduce the C/L and Macuna over a period of time?
for 4 years now i'd been using c/l or macuna very spotily/as i felt the need (I have months on the shelf if you need it-lol). i hated how it all made me feel. so, it was never a problem 4 me to stop it. and besides that, dha/nr/gingko work so well and quickly i haven't felt the need.
I tried it for several months and it did not work for me.
