Sjogren's or kidneys?
I have finally got a date for my salivary gland ultrasound - but whilst I was waiting I had to see my GP as I was getting really weird dents appearing in my skin (it looks like a finger mark left in bread dough). Upshot is he did a few blood tests and my kidney function has decreased by 18 percent in

What is a normal decrease in GFR?
Finally had a chat with my GP about my blood test results. Had a test done in March 2020 - GFR was 80. 2nd test December 2020 GFR was 65. 2 weeks later test was done again without eating any meat and drinking at least 4 litres of water 24hrs before and rose to 68. He said GFR shouldn't have dropped

12 week Scan NHS Scotland - nuchal translucency scan. What it involves.
Hello, I’ve asked this question before but wondering if the hospital will tell gender through tests above? I know it’s an ultrasound, blood test and I take urine sample with me. I’m not fussed about finding out gender majorly but I was just wondering about other people’s experiences. I know my age

Home Nebs 🫁 - they may help improve QoL in severe asthmatics, but are they safe?! Everything you need to know!
Hi everyone. Another infomercial for you all! Hopefully this will be relatively short (but you know me... they never are 😅), and it’ll definitely shorten my next post (add-ons from consultants)! So here we go... Home nebs are almost always frowned upon by consultants (and definitely disapproved of by

New to this - very worried
Hi all - so I am 59yr woman with history of acid reflux but no other digestive problems until fairly recently. About 2 months ago I suddenly felt very nauseous - memorably so - it passed & my thoughts were we'll see what happens may well be something & nothing. With this I began having problems with

Members using b12 powder, vial, insulin needle?
i'd like to hear from members getting b12 powder, dissolving in saline, and drawing on that vial multiple times. i think the system also uses diabetic needles since the volume is much lower than 1cc. perniciousanemia.org and oxfordbiosciences are 2 sites that sell like this. this seems to me a simpler

Humidifiers....?
Hi all. After trying nebulised saline & deciding that’s probably not for me, i thought I’d look into a humidifier again for use at night. Just to add a little moisture to the air as the general humidity seems to have dropped dramatically. Does anyone use them or know of a good brand? Thanks everyone

IgA for 10+ years and sudden drop of eGFR 85 to 69
Hello all! I’m a 37 years old female who was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy about 11 years ago. A little bit of my backstory... it was around this time of year back in 2009, one day purpara (blood spots) started flaring up on my lower legs. I saw many doctors and specialists, eventually I ended up in

Blood test results
I went for my blood test results earlier this week mostly good - ESR 10, hba1c 38, cholesterol 3.9 but my kidney function has gone down and I have to have a retest in a couple of weeks. Fortunately the urine test showed no protein in my urine but I am a bit worried that I may be on the road to CKD. I

Negative pee test at 10 dpt (5day emby) - anyone positive blood test on day 14 or 15? Please share some experience...
Hi anyone had a positive blood test after tested with home pregnancy urine test on a day 10 after the embryo transfer. and then got a positive blood hcg test on a day 14or 15 as clinic advised? Plenty of cramping, and all the symptoms. No spotting though. Please help me to share a glimmer of hope.

Saline drops
Hi everyone, my baby is 1month old and I just noticed a little cold and noisy breathing mostly in the night. Has a little nasal congestion too. I called 111 and was advised to give him saline drops. I just wanted to confirm once more if its safe . Any feedback from mums who have used it would be great

Effects on FEV1 after use of inhaled saline
I’ve had a 5% drop in my FEV1 from 28% to 23%. I have fairly recently been using inhaled saline twice a day to help with clearance. I just had a quick “google”...(dangerous I know😱) but it appears the use of inhaled saline could have a derogatory effect on FEV1. Any thoughts? If so, any alternatives

Small Update on Kidney Infection

The doctor looked at my urine sample and unfortunately I still have infection markers and blood in my urine. I am particularly tender over my right

Concerned about kidneys
I am a 47-year-old male that is 6'1" and weighs 259 lbs. Two conditions I have that may be pertinent to this are high blood pressure and obstructive sleep apnea. I take 50mg of Atenolol twice per day, one 20mg tablet of Prozac, and 4,000 units of Vitamin D. I've taken notice the last week or so that
