Saline drops

Hi everyone, my baby is 1month old and I just noticed a little cold and noisy breathing mostly in the night. Has a little nasal congestion too. I called 111 and was advised to give him saline drops. I just wanted to confirm once more if its safe . Any feedback from mums who have used it would be great.

Thank you very much

It's very safe, it's just salty water, it loosens any mucus and they might even do a big sneeze. I got a nose sucker when my little one had a snotty nose and the calpol plug in too which was really good.

Hello a GP recommended us to use a salt water spray for babies called Sterimar from pharmacy which seemed to work quite well.

Hi Teddy 02, my baby is 3 weeks now. She has got the same thing us your baby 1 week ago.I would say saline is completely safe, I used it before each feed to prevent vomiting and helps her to breathe when feeding.
