Getting very anxious now.
Just gone into my 37th week of pregnancy, never thought I'd get this far and hopefully being induced in 10 days time. I received a birth plan through the post from my haemotologist and it's very involved. Having my blood tested for consistency every 3 hours while in labour. It's good I'm being looked

Great article - written for Thyroid UK for their quarterly 'Harmony Magazine' by Professor Graham Hughes

Thank you for this wonderful site. Whether I have Hughes or not, I’ve sure learned a lot by reading your posts. I’m 46 years old and have three healthy children (full term), and had one miscarriage (12 weeks). I have always had bouts of crippling fatigue and migraines (ever since my teen years).

USEFUL BLOG regarding Hughes Syndrome and Migraines
A long time ago, now, (5 years back) I had an excellent appointment with The National Migraine Centre, when it was still under it's old name of The City of London Migraine Clinic. I had a very ill child, it turns out that two of my children have Hughes Syndrome. I have kept in contact over time with

Heparin...lump!
I take Clopidogrel and recently started using heparin. I've been getting on ok with the injections, I have had some bad bruising on my tummy. Today I noticed a lump in my tummy, about the size of a pea. Has anyone else ever had this? Thanks.

Has anyone lost their baby at 21 weeks gestation because of lupus? Any advice anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
I hate to ask this question, but at the beginning of this year i was happily pregnant, i had my 20 week scan and found out we were having a little boy. But the scan showed that i had less amniotic fluid then i should. This is called Oligohydramnios. From that moment myself and my partner was so worried

MIL just wants a boy!!!!! When we know it's a girl
My MIL is visiting from overseas. I'm 29 weeks pregnant, this is my third pregnancy, first 2 ended up in missed mc. We both are at such a stage where we are thankful to get pregnant and have a healthy and happy child -boy or girl. The pregancy has also not been entirely easy as I was down with sickness

I started Warfarin in March and live in New York. I don't love the testing and diet restrictions. What are the generic alternatives?
I am becoming aware of Fragmin through this site. Is Fragmin a generic form of Heparin? Are there any alternatives in generic form that do not require testing and diet restrictions? I have APS and am being tested for Lupus. I had a stroke in March. I am ambulatory, initially lost my speech but have

March 2014 Dry and sunny at last. In the middle of planning this year’s ‘Ten Topics’ meeting. This annual two-day postgraduate meeting focuses in particular on lupus, Hughes syndrome and related clinical topics. This year, our London meeting will be held at the glorious Glaziers’ Hall, next door

Clexane injection this morning
Hi, I have RA amongst other things and I need to give myself a clexane injection before 9am for the next three days so that I can have an epidural on Monday morning. I have a second blood clot and no-one can explain the reason why. I have a prolapse disc which I have been told I can't have surgery but

Clexane injections, does it get any easier?? How is it monitored?
Previous heparin injections (admittedly over a much shorter time span) did not have an after sting/burning sensation. Is this me? does it improve? After being on warfarin so long I am conditioned to expect INR testing & feel a little insecure that there is apparently no checks that the Clexane is working

Oil Pulling. Does anyone Oil Pull?
I started Oil Pulling maybe it's a coincidence but I feel great!?! It's so simple but It's supposed to be really good for your health, it's a super detox. I figure so many of the listed benifits are so closely related to APS I have nothing to lose by trying. Basically you swish around

Warfarin not in range so on it plus Heparin. Joints in hands and wrist, knees and one heel painful - why?
INR has gone below 2 and stayed there for a few weeks now. They keep upping the dose but it is having little impact. This means I have to inject Heparin (well family do as I can't stand needles) until it goes above 2. I have noticed my joints are really aching which they don't do when Warfarin is
