Newly diagnosed PE and scared :-(
Hi all, I'm 35 years old and had severe chest pain since New Year's Eve, which I thought was a pulled muscle. Last Thursday I was diagnosed with a PE after blood test and CTPA scan (no leg swelling at all). I've been having daily blood tests, Heparin injections and Warfarin tablets but feel very alone

Overwhelmed and Exhausted
Hello my Friends in this Forum! It's Deb! Sorry I havnt been around, but going thru too much too soon after being DX'd! Yesterday marked 1 year of the day I lost my leg from APS. At the time we didn't know I had APS! Still was treated grossly negligent in the loss of my leg, due to it being X'mas week

2 different opinions! APS specialist or regular Hemotologist & Nanny 23
I'm in a debacle please help! I'm about to ask my APS SPECIALIST CUZ I'm confused! My Hemotologist of 12 years for Polycythemia Vera, was happy my INR was at 2.1! I'm not and my APS specialist said to stick with the Lovenox shots! Doc Don said, in going to have blood pooling in my calf whether or not

ITP and Prothrombin Gene Mutation
Anyone else out there who has both ITP and prothrombin gene mutation (Factor II)? I have always had a low platelet counts (normally between 80 - 110). After several miscarriages I asked for testing and found out that I also have prothrombin gene mutation and that I will need to inject daily with heparin

Post atrial flutter ablation update # 4 or it 5
Hooray - out of hospital but administering heparin injections myself along with the warfarin with regular blood tests. I must say my stay at Morriston Hospital, Swansea was like an all inclusive holiday but without the pool, gym & bar - the food excellent and staff so caring. But very happy being home

Start January.....way more drugs, any advise??
Seen our specialist today, results from hysteroscopy and amh all good as he expected but needed to be sure before embarking on another try. Had thrombophilia screening too today, but consultant doubts anything will show up, again doing it to rule out before another try, however we know there are clotting

IVF & when to take blood thinners
Hi there, So after 2 miscarriages in 2013 / 2014, I was diagnosed with APS. I went on aspirin and heparin for my next pregnancy that happened very quickly after the 2nd mc. The doctors wanted to wait for a scan before starting the blood thinners to be sure I was not ectopic. We got as far as a heartbeat

Just seen Professor Cruz with a result I think ?
Hi there have just seen prof D'Cruz after last month being sold by Dr Sangle I no longer have APS. Prof D'Cruz looked at all my blood work and history and decided I have APS without doubt but because of low levels he is worried about keeping me on the Heparin as their is a risk of brain bleeds e.c.t.

Dental work
I have root resorption on one of my front teeth, the dentist will have to remove it and either fit an implant or I will have a denture on a plate instead. My GP said I need to stop my warfarin for a day before and two days after and have heparin instead, he said the dentist should arrange this. When

Hi, I am new to this site and thyroid issues so I'd be grateful for some advice as I have my first endo appointment this week.
Due to treatments I have a non functioning spleen so I was on 961mg
septrin
, 500mg of amoxicillin & Aciclovir every day. Many meds & biopsies mean I now have a thyroid issue.

Factor 5 leiden
I had a blood clot when I was on the pill, I was told this is common. I stopped the pill immediately. Then 5 years later I fell pregnant with my first child yet again I ended up with another blood clot. Tests were done nothing showed up. Soon as I fell pregnant with my 2nd child I went onto heparin and
