Prostatic Artery Embolization
I’m 67 year old and have been suffering with BPH for years. Don’t want to do TURP or lasers. I’m interested in doing PAE. Has anyone had this procedure done. Does it work. I had a cystoscope and the urologist found a medial lobe at the neck of the bladder. Would PAE work if the blockage is located there

Scar conscious.
So it was with some trepidation I entered the pool as I suddenly felt 😅 20 odd people staring at my
scars
. In truth they probably weren't, only one elderly Scottish lady remarking "Oh I see you've had a Bypass same as my late husband!"

Anybody else? Self harm and acne
HiI have a mixture of
scars
on my lower forearms both raised and flat. This is from self harm. They are fully healed. Many years ago I massaged bio oil into the affected areas. It turned my
scars
white. I have started to get the ball rolling with skin camouflage via Email and eligibility.

Sacroiliac joint fusion
After many painful years I'm on the NHS list for sacroiliac joint fusion. Of course there is a 12 month waiting list. Has any one had this operation done privately? Struggling to find a private consultant in Yorkshire.

Choice 🥺
However, some
scars
do have the healing property but some people, since they want to satisfy their own being, go to the lowest possible extent and cut open that scar, not once, not twice but multiple times.

Back MRI Showed Pelvic Mass
Hello all! I am new here, so this is my first post. I had a back MRI in September 2023 in preparation for possible back surgery. The results of the MRI showed a pelvic mass in the area of left ovary. I took this information to my Gyn, who referred me to a GynOnc because of my age (65), the results

Biopsy Results
I have had the results of my recent endosendoscopy today. I went privately to see a gastroenterologist as the previous one I had done on NHS stated that I did not need a follow-up even though they found Atrophic Gastritis and Hyperplasia. I had something called The Sydney Protocol, this involved taking

Lipoid pneumonia
Earlier this year I had serious nose bleeds resulting in hospital admissions and cautery. Subsequently seen by ENT consultant who advised daily insertion of Vaseline into nostrils to prevent them drying out and possible further bleeds. Since then I found on the internet (various reputable sites)

Cutenous endometriosis
Hi there, I had my 4th endo surgery early this year and have developed cutaneous endometriosis by my belly button. It causes pain at tines and I thought it was a keloid, but my GP thinks it's cutaneous endometriosis. Has anyone experienced this and if anyone has any advice. X

Woot, 2 year update, covid pneumonia
Hey folks, Just a quick post. I'm hitting 5 mile runs now and am doing strength training on my legs to improve my endurance. I still have some issues with my neck, but its gradually improving, lets just hope I do not put it out for a third time! I'm now hitting more challanging climbs, and have walked

Gentamicin Nebulised
HiI have bronchiectasis and pseudomonas colonisation. I have been on Colomycin for 10 years but have now seeked a second opinion for my condition (maybe a bit late but I took Littlepom's advice). They are looking to change me to Gentamicin instead. At present I am on IV antibiotics for 14 days. Fifth

No more propafenone!!!! What???
I'm in the U.S., diagnosed PAF ~3 years ago. Have achieved excellent control with propafenone (Rythmol). My pharmacy informed me they cannot refill my prescription, as there is a supply side problem with propafenone. From what I have read, there is a dangerous shortage of propafenone in the U.S and

Battle Scars, vanity and pride
As a fair skinned Scotswoman I have always had to protect my skin in the sun. Years of good practice have left me feeling rather proud of my smooth fair decolletage.. As I ponder my upcoming surgery I ask myself is it vain to want, expect my surgeon to perform his incision and closing with great care

Pet scans as of 2023 show no more metastatic disease and just
scars
where there were multiple lesions. I am 73. I am still on the meds to help prevent recurrence. Side affects have caused back pain.

MVR surgery - scars?
Hello all, am so grateful that this forum exists! Am 59 and on waiting list for Mitral Valve surgery in West London. Apart from the standard fear/concern about the surgery itself I am thinking about recovery time and also the scarring? I realise every case is different but if anyone can share and
