Hello all! I am new here, so this is my first post. I had a back MRI in September 2023 in preparation for possible back surgery. The results of the MRI showed a pelvic mass in the area of left ovary. I took this information to my Gyn, who referred me to a GynOnc because of my age (65), the results of a pelvic ultrasound, and CA125 being elevated. Prior to the back MRI, I had no pelvic symptoms other than frequency of urination, which I attributed to IBS (Irritable Bladder Syndrome). Following the GynOnc appointment, I had a laparotomy, during which time I had my ovaries removed. I am now 3 weeks post successful surgery, and still in recovery. After my 2-week post-op appointment, the surgeon said that he did remove the abnormal cyst, but that the pathology report is pending as to what next steps might be. It'll be another couple of weeks before my next appointment with the surgeon, but I am praying and believing that all will be well!
