Rytary

A doctor in Mayo clinic switched me to rytary. It is expensive , do you think switching worth it?

But my doc at the time changed me to Rytary. I’m in the same practice, but my favorite dr. Retired my second one quit, and I have now a movement specialist who gives me different strengths of Rytary and lets me work it out. Any suggestions of what I should do? Thanks

The quetiapam /rytary helps me fall asleep and get back to sleep if I wake up, and the Klonopin helps me with anxiety. I also see a counselor who specializes in PD and get regular and vigorous exercise.

In December '23, i started Rytary. Made me compulsive (i couldn't stop doing whatever i focused on, cleaning, crafting, etc.), and my already fragile sleep took a hit. Made me feel crazy! Lowering the initial dose (which had been calculated per the Rytary calculator) didn't help.

I am currently on Rytary. My concern is that one of the side effects is anxiety, although a low percentage is report this. >3%

My overall typical schedule including this learning is now: up at 8 am, 830 0.8 rytary (total 0.8 x 245mg) 1300 1 245 (total 1.8 x 245mg now) (eat) ~1500 on ongentys well after the meal 1530 start big exercise 1700 1 rytary (total 2.8 x 245mg now) 2200 1 rytary, depending (total 3.8 x 245mg)

36.25 mg/145mg 7am (2) 10am (2) 2pm (2) 6pm (2) 8-9pm (2) Rytary Rytary 95 as of 6/3 taking this in place of a rytary 145 at 10am I see doc this week to re eval my pd drugs.

My question is “Can adding amantadine to my Rytary to help with dyskinesia actually cause dystonia? Thanks for your thoughts.

I take Rytary Four to five times a day. It all works pretty good except my third dosage. I take 285 mg each dosage. The third dosage is at 1:00 and does not kick in. I have to take my 4th at 4;30 (a little early) and it kicks in fine. Maybe it’s food interference.

I take 1 25/100 and 2 rytary(48.75/195) at 8am, 3 rytary at 11am, 2 rytary at 2pm and 2 rytary at 5pm. I have very little off time. I was diagnosed two years ago at age 51 but it probably had Parkinson’s since I’ve been 40 years old.

I recently lowered my Rytary to help with dyskinesia. My feet are really hurting a Lot now, especially after being on them this morning. Should I go back on the higher dose?Trying to decide. What to do. Any advice? Could this be dystonia?

Also my Parkinson’s meds are Rytary and amantadine, which I just started. Have been diagnosed 24 years ago. Thanks for your kind input!

Typically, if I miss or forget a dose (I take rytary 4x per day and 1 dose of Amantadine for dyskinesia, I suffer from many of the typical pd symptoms such as speech, swallowing, drooling, balance, handwriting , weakness, getting out of bed issues. I also start to feel punch drunk and woozy.

The Rytary seems to be effective after my 2nd and 3rd doses. Had anyone else experienced a similar problem?

For the Parkinsons I take Rytary 61.25/245 Donepezil 10 mg and Doxazosin for BP. Been on all that for about 5 years and pretty stable. Any suggestions? I'm currently sleeping on the floor until I figure this out

Ok, it does the manic then falling off a cliff thing to me. I'm only taking it now in the morning, but afternoon CR results in stacking and sleeplessness. I've lost weight. Dont want to exercise. Just walk a bit. Nervous system out of whack. I jump when someone speaks to me. Past five nights very little

tried Rytary about 6 months ago and since has been having depression and anxiety. tried to add zoloft to the mix and boy he was a mess.... currently stopped all medication and his mental health is better. not great but at least we are not in crisis mode.

"Update: the switch from Rytary 4 doses within a 24 hour period to 1 Rytary dose at night and 6 C/L doses during the day. The change was made because the day doses were less effective.

I’d like to hear experiences of switching back from Rytary to regular CR or IR? Why did you switch back?
