currently after 1.5 years taking C/L, i am taking half pill every two hours.

It wears off really fast with shortness of breath and bradykinesia, if I take one pill it gives me dyskinesia.

A doctor in Mayo clinic switched me to rytary. It is expensive , do you think switching worth it?

Have you tried taking three quarters of a pill?

it’s worth it if your quality of life is improved . In my case, my quality of life was not improved.I am currently on one CL 25/100 every two hours l have dystonias of foot, neck, shoulder, and hip, not tremors. And they were not improved at all by Rytary. So I’m back to CL.

Sounds as if you are getting too much - have you tried pushing out to 2.5 hours?

with a $2,000 cap on your Medicare drugs for 2025, things.may be different.for you.

Go back and tell him what is happening - you are not happy - put you on what you were on or something that will give you a life. You should not be going thru this - trouble I find is they do not listen!

Rytary is different for everyone it does not work for me at all and in fact causes issues. I don’t know why but I’m better taking one CL every two hours and getting about 30 minutes of on time with each pill. I’ve never had tremors. I have dystonias (shoulder, neck, hip, toes) which are very painful, freezing, oddness of gait, dry cough, constipation, excess saliva, dizziness, insomnia slowness and other strange symptoms, but no tremors. The latest theory of my MDS is that I need the big dopamine surge and drop that comes with standard CL. Rytary spreads the dopamine out more. You might want to try a free sample and then decide. If I could get even just one hour of on time, I’d take Rytary!

I have been taking Rytary many years with good luck. Worth a try for you.

My wife is on a combination of Rytary and Ongentys (and the gloves) and has, essentially, no off time.

Switching helped me tremendously. I prefer Rytary over immediate release.

Isn’t Rytary composed of both IR C/L and CR C/ L ?

Yes

Correct, one third are dissolved and released immediately and 2/3 extended release. The brain prefers a nice constant steady release of dopamine, as compared to the rapid fluctuations one gets with 100% immediate release, according to my neurologist, and has been my experience with Rytary.
