Roaccutane

hello, i’m still feeling very upset about my brain injury (undiagnosed), after taking roaccutane all that time ago.

My first Parkinson’s symptoms started just 2 weeks after beginning a treatment for rosacea with accutane / isotretonoin. Isotretonoin has a long list of serious side effects of which I was not aware. It also gave me back pain. Anyone else here who took accutane and later developed PD?

I am being treated with Roaccutane (isotretinoin) for acne. 4 months ago I had dryness and irritation on my penis due to the medication. I consulted a terrible urologist and he prescribed me a corticosteroid ointment and told me that I should use it repeatedly, as the ointment wouldn't harm me.

I just asked chatGPT what effects Roaccutane has on the brain. It told me that it causes damage to the hypothalamus, hippocampus, prefrontal cortex and serotonin system, and is commonly linked to depression and anxiety. SO… how am i supposed to deal with all of this?

I suffered from acne pretty badly around the age of 11 for a few years, took Roaccutane, it cleared up, medication did it's job. Fast forward to now, I'm 30 ish, lovely basic good quality skincare, no smoking, alcohol, good diet (or so I thought!). Not on any contraceptives.

Taking a medication called roaccutane 20years ago has ruined my life. It has damaged my brain and i’ve been living with these awful side effects all through my 20s and 30s.

I have sometimes taken flu meds and roaccutane along with these meds. My doctor said it's nothing to worry about. But high direct bilirubin worries me. How do you think?

I then went on Roaccutane which cleared it up. It then returned in my late 40s when I went through the menopause. I went on Roaccutane which cleared it up for good. In the 70s there wasnt much awareness of skin problems. Of course, no internet, no support groups.

Hello guys I’m currently on roaccutane 80mg/day in my third to forth month on the pills im taking pills for my liver too although many of my friends said that they haven’t.

Hi I'm looking to get some advice I'm starting Accutane for my skin and I was wondering if anyone has taken it? I'm trying to research what supplements to take while on it (side affects can include higher cholesterol, inflamed liver) and I can't find much. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate

Hi there, I’m in my 6th, nearly 7th week of taking roaccutane. Was initially on 20mg, Currently on 40mg but my acne is getting 10x worse and I’m just concerned because my acne hasn’t been this bad before. It’s quite upsetting and frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

I was looking through an old diary and realised I got diagnosed with hashimotos 6 weeks after coming off the drug roaccutane. After a bit of googling I did find a study suggesting maybe roaccutane is an environmental trigger for hashimotos.

My daughter has been on 40mg for just over 4 weeks and her skin has become much worse. I took 3 injection 1000mcg (my actually dose was 6 injection 2weeks alternate days ) i took the first injection i got some huge spot I thought it was by stress after third injection i broke out very bad. My 13 year old daughter has been taking roaccutane for 3 months 1 month 30mg and 2months 60mg. She’s was on dyxocline Doxycycline for the previous 6 months that caused severe nausea. She is still suffering from nausea and stomach pain. Any advice greatly appreciated

My 15 year old daughter has just started on roaccutane. I’m “trying” to get her to follow a healthy diet now on this medication. She takes the tablet & an antibiotic tablet with a bowl of cereal in the morning! But is now getting diareaha .
