Advice on medication
Today I have been prescribed Rubifen SR, which I think is basically
Ritalin
SR under a different name. I am upping my dose in a staged manner, 20mg for the first 2 weeks, then 40 mg etc. I took my first pill today and felt nothing. Is that normal?

ADHD medicine side effects and issues
The least side effects came from
Ritalin
. Was having some issues with anxiety which in turn raised my blood pressure. The other night my BP spiked to 171 over 110 with resting pulse at 142. The stimulants just don’t work well with me honestly. It’s been a whirlwind of experiences honestly.

I could use some advice for my son's meds.
Anyway, we had him on
Ritalin
at first. I want to say we started at 5mg, which helped a little, but we moved him up to 10 a couple weeks after if I remember right. And then 20mg maybe six months later. Like everyone else, we had a hard time finding his medication.

Tales from the heart: Fixing flawed ADHD testing
I took the test once without medication (which I assume was a control), and once with medication (as a way of proving that
Ritalin
does what it says on the back of the box).

Finally getting meds - Ritalin: Tell me your happy experiences on Ritalin 🙏🏼
After 1 year of waiting, today my psychiatrist is sending a letter to my GP to prescribe
Ritalin
. Start on 10mg, then 2 weeks later 20mg, then 2 weeks later 30mg. 3 times a day. What is your before & after experience on this medication?

Treating ADHD
My doc started me on
Ritalin
10 mg and it made me tired, then I was give
Ritalin
30mg and that made me more sleepy. So then she started me on adderall 20mg and that hasn’t made me tired nor has it helped at all with focus. I am still running 100 miles a min cause I can’t stop and focus.

Need help with finding ADHD specialist or clinic near Vaughan or Toronto area to prescribe meds.
I have ran out of my medication and urgently seek advice on where and how to find a specialist who can prescribe me
Ritalin
based on medical records from Germany in Toronto / Vaughan. I do not even know where to start. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Cold Medicine Options
I’m finding that everything has a decongestant in it, which I was told to avoid when he’s taking
Ritalin
, and then everything else has citric acid, which is taking too close to the
ritalin
, can make it less effective.

Not well!!
They gave me
Ritalin
which helps for about 4 hours and then back to the couch. Also my bones and joints hurt like there’s no tomorrow. I have a very hard time walking. I’m wondering if this is it for me and that’s why my Onc suggested Boston.

Know a provider who really gets it?
They said things like, "If
Ritalin
didn't help you, then you don't have ADD," and, "Medication doesn't work for everyone." I met Dr. Liden at a conference. He told the audience that response to any one medication is not a diagnostic criteria for ADD/ADHD.

ADHD Tips
I have been taking
ritalin
and it's been working well so far. I am due for appointment with my psychiatrist for a follow up. I do feel that side effects have gone away big time like close to zero.

Vyvanse need encouragement
When my daughter was younger, we tried
Ritalin
and Adderall and had problems with both. We went several years unmedicated. My daughter is doing well in all areas of life and i keep questioning why I am starting medication.

Teenager daughter in total denial of diagnosis
So far we have tried therapists, a coach, and the psychiatrist prescribed
Ritalin
, which she only tried once and will never try again as she got dizzy and got blurry vision. Her opposition to us parents is also very strong, as she wants to be fiercely independent.
