Last year my chemist gave me salamol instead of salbutamol, I took nearly all of the inhaler as it dident help me at all, so my doctor told my chemist I needed salbutamol, but the chemist is saying it's exactly the same, I don't find this at all, iv just looked it up and the salamol is a lot cheaper

Yankee candles?
Hi, my partner and I sometimes use unscented candles which I’m fine with, but we was wondering about the scented Yankee ones do you think it will be ok? And does anyone else use them? . I know things like perfumes, washing powder and deodorant sprays set my asthma off but was wondering if Yankee candles

Salamol
At the instigation of my GP practice I have been moved from salbutamol ( usually supplied as trade named Ventolin)reliever to salamol on the grounds that it is cfc free, it states it on the box. I thought all aerosols were cfc free since about the 1990’s when the hole in the ozone layer was discovered

High platelet count
I also have Allergic
Rhinitis
. Recently had severe pain in upper tummy, 2 days later developed shingles which has cleared up. GP wanted to do blood tests and results are elevated platelet count, have heard that there is a link between this and IBS along with
Rhinitis
causing elevation.

i know this is going to sound weird but…….
Ever since I had the DBS I’ve had
rhinitis
, itchy eyes, itchy skin. I assumed that I needed to hoover up etc, get my dogs bedding changed etc. I’ve done all of these but I’m still symptomatic. I thought to myself the other day: this started pretty soon after the DBS.

Ventolin versus Salamol reliever inhalers
I’ve read a number of comments on this site concerning the move from Ventolin to Salamol inhalers. People are concerned that the Salamol inhaler is much weaker, therefore needing more puffs than the ventolin equivalent and I have also read about the bad taste of Salamol inhalers. It seems that Salamol

Fostair and throat/voice irritation
Or is it my asthma (or
rhinitis
). The impact on my voice is irritating as I use my voice in my job. I get sinusitis anyway so difficult to know where it is coming from. Wondering about going to GP to reduce dose but don't want to do so soon after being bad and in hospital

Perennial Rhinitis
Morning everyone I suffer throughout the year with allergies/sinus problems but stopped taking anything to prevent it when I was initially diagnosed with AF. Does anyone know of any hay fever meds that are ok to take and hopefully won’t trigger AF? Many thanks

Question for those with both asthma and nasal polyps
Hello, I just wanted to ask those with CRSwPolyps (
rhinitis
and polyps) and asthma, which developed first ie asthma or
rhinitis
/polyps and by how many years. Reason I ask - apparantly up to 70% of people with
rhinitis
and polyps develop asthma.

Dry Power Inhaler Problems
Around week two I started experiencing sinus/
rhinitis
symptoms. At my review they change me to Fostair NEXTHALER 100/6 which has made the sinus issues worse & I have completely lost my sense of smell & I mean completely not even bleach or perfume.

Feeling horribly guilty for not enjoying my 3rd trimester 😣💕🙈
I feel bad for even complaining but in the last week (I'm 33 weeks now) my pregnancy has turned from relatively easy to being super uncomfortable and painful - insomnia, intense tailbone pain, acid reflux with every bite, swallow and drink, inability to breathe, swelling, tiredness and
rhinitis
all playing

Dealing with nonallergic rhinitis (NAR)
So nonallergic
rhinitis
, like the allergic form, does indeed appear to be much more common in PD, but I did not come across any follow-up research. A pity, because surely there seems to be more to be gained from this “relationship”.

Inhalers.
Thanks everyone for your replies. At the moment l am on Fostair 200/6 and have Salamol for my reliever. My breathlessness has gotten worse in the last few months and am wondering if it is worth speaking to my consultant about a change.

Involuntary nasal dripping when eating
I think it may have a name - Gustatory
Rhinitis
! My poor husband cannot enjoy any meal without his nose dripping involuntarily into his food!! Interestingly, he has no mouth saliva/dribbling at all, and no nasal dribbling when not eating, but this business is a real issue for him at meal times.

Up and down
I really don't understand when you have copd the way it goes up and down. I take duaklir inhalation powder which works for me and a salamol as a backup. I walk my dogs most days and am OK doing so but sometimes I seem to be trying to breath through an invisible sheet at the back of my throat and you

Is there a firm way to distinguish sinus issues from asthma symptoms
This might sound like a stupid question but I have a nasal condition - chronic
rhinitis
with polyps which is relatively managed however my nose/nasopharynx has changed somehow in the past year in that it makes whistling noises when I breath in.

Navage?
Many of us (most?) suffer from sinus issues and we have our own tools to deal with these issues. My weapons of choice are Saline spray followed by Flonase before I go to bed. Works pretty well except for right now during allergy season. However, I've been hearing many advertisements for the Navage
