Taking 100mg levothyroxine. Feel like my skin is crawling with ants, allergic rhinitis, several migraines a month, utterly exhausted, brain fog. This is all in the last few months, is it part of being hypo and why isn't meds working for me?

Did you find this happening at some particular point? And did you happen to change make at about that time?

helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines

helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.

This link takes you to a page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and Google Drive, and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones.

The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrix for tablets, oral solutions and liothyronine available in the UK.

do you have hashimotos? I have hashimotos and get skin crawling which is worst since I hit 40. Have you had a full panel of blood tests including antibodies?

Welcome aboard, best thing would be to start a new post of your own including latest results, also filling in your history on your profile page, then we'll be able to offer you some advice about your current dosage along with vits and mins supplementation that will help 🙂

When were thyroid and vitamin levels last tested

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Is this how you do your test

And always take levothyroxine on empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after

No vitamin supplements within 2 hours

Have you had thyroid antibodies tested for autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s?

Developing dairy intolerance is common on levothyroxine

Worth trying dairy free to see if helps improve rhinitis and post nasal drip

please add most recent thyroid and vitamin results

You may need dose adjustment in levothyroxine

Or try different brand

My quick and easy suggestion would be cutting out dairy if you haven't already, in just a few days you'll notice a difference if this is the culprit. I became dairy intolerant once I started levo 😕 it's quite common as levo wouldn't usually go through your gut.

Lactose makes my skin crawl, nose drip and migraines

Hope it helps 🤗
