Last year my chemist gave me salamol instead of salbutamol, I took nearly all of the inhaler as it dident help me at all, so my doctor told my chemist I needed salbutamol, but the chemist is saying it's exactly the same, I don't find this at all, iv just looked it up and the salamol is a lot cheaper than salbutamol, I really don't think it's anything to do wth omissions.

I don't it about cost but many have said they need more of it as the force is lower in Salomon than Ventolin I agree I was on Ventolin was moved to Salomol. not sure it would make much difference to cfc though more oil drilling and PMs helicopter use bit daft. Much bigger polluters need addressing . Your GP Prescribes not the pharmacist so they are not allowed to change it without GPs agreement.
I've used it for years now.it did take a long while to have same effect.
Ask your doctor to put Ventolin on your prescription. This happened to me with my Fostair but because it was named on my prescription I was able to ring the pharmacy and ask why they had sent me Luforbec when my prescription is for Fostair. They sent out a Fostair and asked for the Luforbec back.
If your prescription states Ventolin then the pharmacist has to ask your permission when offering an alternative and you can refuse the alternative. However, if the prescription states Salbutamol, then the pharmacist can issue Salamol as Salbutamol is the medication and Ventolin and Salamol are trade names, both containing Salbutamol.
You'll need to get your GP to prescribe Ventolin rather than Salbutamol.
