High platelet count

I have had IBS for 30 years triggered by stressful time in my life. Good days and not so good days now but I don’t let it define me. I have reflux caused by small issue with sphincter not closing properly. I also have Allergic Rhinitis. Recently had severe pain in upper tummy, 2 days later developed shingles which has cleared up. GP wanted to do blood tests and results are elevated platelet count, have heard that there is a link between this and IBS along with Rhinitis causing elevation. GP has referred for scans etc to rule out anything nasty. Has anyone else had higher platelet count due to IBS?

Hi there, I’ve just had shingles - 2 weeks in and I’ve developed been in my upper tummy too, especially bad at night. Did you ever get to the bottom of your pain? Is it ok now? My GP seems unconcerned. Hope you’re better?
