Certainly no oral medication is helpful I found as when my AF was regular anything would trigger it! I was prescribed a steroid nasal spray by my GP which works a treat and has never upset AF. I also use a nasal nettipot saline rinse daily which has also I believe made a big difference. I believe you can also buy as OTC, ask your chemist. The solution is not absorbed into the blood stream and I only use at night.
Thanks I’ll give the nasal steroid spray another go - I’ve tried several different ones over the years with limited success, I’ve been using Neilmed nasal washouts nightly for many years after being recommended them by an ENT consultant at James Padgett Hospital in Yarmouth, (I live in West Yorkshire so you can tell how far I’ve traveled in search of a sinus solution!) The washouts work brilliantly and definitely reduce the number of sinus infections, it’s just some help with allergies to tree moulds and pollen? Like a lot of AF suffers I I avoid any cold remedies that might triggers the dreaded Af but wondered if anyone found any of the note modern antihistamines ok to use?
I have exercise induced Rhinitis, which is a bit inconvenient as a club cyclist since my nose is running most of the time and it's a bit embarrasing to be blowing my nose 'on the move' so often. I just looked up nasal sprays and rinses but the NHS website says do not use for more than a week. Any other treatments for this?
