So much confusion so much pain
I tell you I struggle every day. I look at pics of my wife from this time last year, 2 years ago 3 years ago. My wife was never a drinker. We had a glass of wine at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every now and then, maybe once or twice a year. She would have a drink at our friends. When we moved

Rash from Cirrhosis?
Anyone with cirrhosis have a rash other than jaundice or spider veins? I have little raised red bumps that get very itchy and scaly. They’re mostly on my legs and my back and some along my waistline.

From the depths of despair, there is hope

Symptoms suddenly taking a turn for the worse
Hello everyone. I am new to the forum, and have some questions to ask, but also want to share my RLS story, as well as some things that I have found helpful in living with RLS. I have had RLS for over 40 years. At first it was fairly easily controlled with a good run or long walk, and later with magnesium

TIPS Procedure
Hi wonderful community. My question is: Has anyone had a TIPS procedure without having a gastric or esophageal bleed or without HE, ascites or any other of the many conditions associated with cirrhosis? Currently have cirrhosis, enlarged spleen(14.5 cm) and grade 4 both esophageal and gastric varices

Elevated ELF but 'normal' Fibroscan pressure - how?
Hi All: I'm a 50-something male with a fatty liver. Recently I was given an ELF test and it returned a result at the lowest end of the 'severe fibrosis' range. A follow-up Fibroscan gave a reading in the upper normal range for liver stiffness. How can the disparity be explained? Do I give more credence

Unrelated to Parkinson's
Prior to 1980 about the only relativly common form of thiamin was thiamin hcl and then most vitamins and enritched food products changed to thiamin mononitrate. While thiamin HCL is a wonderful form of thiamin for 99.99 % of the population for some reason I can't take it. When I take thiamin HCL in

Covid, AKI and liver damage
Has anyone else had Covid and ended up with liver damage, acute kidney injury and nearly died from kidney and liver nigh on failure. I am just wondering if Covid can worsen internal organs, cause double pneumonia and I end up in a coma for nearly 5 weeks. The main question I am trying to find out is

Hubby recently diagnosed but virtually at the end stage
Hi there. I’m not sure where to start. So my hubby was diagnosed with non alcoholic liver cirrhosis and spent 3 weeks in hospital. Half on ICU where I work and then half on the liver ward. Despite being on diagnosed 4 weeks ago he is quite far down the line of the condition. Jaundice ascities sepsis

nhs job scared colleagues will find out I have cirrhosis.
hi . I’m becoming more and more worried that once I’m called for my first surveillance of my chirrhosis that I’ll know the doctor and people there as I k ow a lot of the staff in the hospital. I’m wondering if there’s any way I could ask for my scans elsewhere? Tia

Green poo - any connection with Liver disease
Hi All. Will keep it brief. Ended up in hospital last year due to my alcohol consumption (heavy for years, daily for the last 3). Borderline cirrhosis. Lost my job Stayed sober well into this year but stress of not getting a new job and debt recently drove me to relapse. It was a heavy one - horrendous
