Vitamin d causing tinnitus
Hi all, Bit of a long story but here it goes. I started suffering with tinnitus after I had radio active iodine therapy to ablate my thyroid due to graves disease. I eventually linked it to taking vitamin d, stopped taking it and the tinnitus stopped. I unfortunately have low vitamin D so struggle

Not sure about radioactive iodine- best way to get a second opinion?
Hi All, I had a partial thyroidectomy in approx 2005 when I was 12, removing a rapidly growing benign nodule on my right side. I've been fine for years, and my TSH levels have apparently been within normal range when tested since. However since 2017 my remaining side has rapidly grown, and I now have

Opioid withdrawal/ management advice
Hi. I have been taking opiods for many years. First codeine, which stopped working. I moved on to Tramadol and now Morphine. I have never suffered withdrawal symptoms whilst stopping an opioid because once a week I have a night drug free. I am doing this whilst on Morphine too in anticipation of

CDC reconsidering guidelines for opiate use. This affects RLS sufferers.
RLS.org is asking us to send comments to the Center for Disease Control about our use of opioids to treat our symptoms, as the CDC is reconsidering guidelines for their appropriate use and how they can be prescribed. Please don’t think this is only for Americans. ( See below.) My comment stated that

3.6cm thyroid nodule, fight to get it removed...
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone's been in a similar situation that can share some advice I have a nodule on my thyroid that's 3.6cm, I've had FNA and all came back OK but since had an iodine uptake scan and it showed the nodule is hot and effectively has caused the healthy part of my thyroid to switch

RLS codeine
I have never experienced such a dramatic sensation in my body but I do keep RLS at bay with dihydrocodeine before bedtime and one in the night if I start kicking and screaming. The two natural things I find helpful is magnesium and a magnet wrapped in cloth near my legs.

Alarming episode
Am on Gabapentin 400mg which works only 50%; also suffer from insomnia independently of RLS. . My doc prescribes me occasional Zolpidem when she takes pity on me and the odd Zolpiclone. Last night exhausted after 3 sleepless nights I thought I would treat myself to a Zolpiclone - last one in packet

Your DNA affects your drug choices
interesting article on the BBC - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-60903839 This follows other research that looks at neuroimaging and may be able to predict groups of people that a drug may not work in or conversely identify when it is more likely to work. But this article is very interesting not least

Iodine Testing
Hi Can anyone recommend an Iodine test? I have read that a 24 hour loading test is the best and to also test for Bromide and Flouride as they can block absorption but I'm not sure where to get this done. Many thanks!
