Further update on flare or muscle pain
Having made several visits to GP about back pain, I ended up being admitted to A and E 3 weeks ago because my blood pressure was 200plus/100plus, spent 24 hours sat in a wheelchair. This was after a 4 hour wait for ambulance in the early hours. Eventually moved to Acute Medical, the consultant there doubled

Iodine Ideal Range
Dr. Christianson has written another interesting article on iodine deficiency / iodine excess. Many have asked "what is the ideal range"? Here is what Dr. Christianson has found: https://www.drchristianson.com/blog/symptoms-iodine-deficiency/?inf_contact_key=64da1575574c57b3fa4d38e51ab23a3f3ab49f51ea730ee15151c7d3d2737089

Carbimazole & Antithyroid arthritis
Hello, I’m a 33 year old woman, I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid around 2months ago, was put on 15mg carbimazole a day. Started with a painful mouth ulcer so stopped medication & waited to see my consultant for advice as I didn’t know how bad the mouth ulcer had to be, he advised me to go back

Hi everyone I'm new here. I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia in January, I've been struggling for 3 years . I've had lots of tests, xrays, mri scans...nothing comes up!!. I'm on fluxotine, pregabalin, codeine and Naproxen. This is my second time applying for PIP and yet again I've been refused

HiI have Graves disease - diagnosed 30 Sept 22 with zero TSH and high TRAB count. Carbimazole 40mg less than 3 weeks and neotrophils dropped with slightly raised AST and ALT liver enzymes. Endo told my GP to stop that and go on PTU. One week on only beta blockers then started 400mg PTU. Liver enzymes

Muscle Relaxers?
So I think we established that NSAIDs we’re no-gos, with Naproxen the least objectionable and codeine as a possibility for strong pain relief, and paracetamol/acetaminophen for regular pain relief. How about muscle relaxants? Are there any that are safe with Afib? Thanks so much!

running out of options
hearts been tight since Feb 23rd. Been to A&E three times. Nothing but codeine and naproxen. gp didn’t take my blood pressure or listen to my heart. Just shrugged me off Work GP (doctor care anywhere) recommended diazepam. he concluded it could be coronary muscle spasm. Nobody will sign off on it

Strange?
Yesterday I woke up feeling really rough, banging headache and nausea. I took some OTC paracetamol and codeine (12mg),one dose at 5 a.m and the last at 10.30 a.m. I do occasionally use this at night to help with RLS, but in this case I had nothing at all after 10.30 a.m. Yesterday evening I had an

Staying positive/ mind set
How do you keep going?! Until now my pain was manageable. But now nothing helps but codeine. I have 2 kids. I'm exhausted. I'm self employed so missing my work colleagues support network. Plan is to have a hysterectomy but can't have it for a year. I just feel very stuck. Are GPs supposed to help

Statins and underactive thyroid
I've had an underactive thyroid after
radioactive
iodine
treatment 20+ years ago. After a recent health check - no thyroid results - but cholesterol results are 'a cause for concern'. I'm seeing the nurse next week when I expect statins will be suggested.

High GGT Level
Morning All, so my GGT level is now up to 136 & my GP has requested a liver scan, I’m still waiting for the appointment. I’ve been virtually teetotal for 5 years, just the occasional drink on special occasions. I do/have taken a lot of paracetamol & codeine due to headaches from a previous brain operation

Ibuprofen with methotrexate and azathioprine
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am on methotrexate and reducing the azathioprine for my lupus. The trouble is I was told by the pharmacist she wouldn't give me ibuprofen as I was on the methotrexate. My rheumatologist said it was OK to take both so now I am confused. Is it safe or not

Stage 4 endo diagnosed with emergency laparoscopy. Zoladex prescribed for 6m with follow up surgery after that. Seeking advice.
Hi everyone! I just stumbled across this website again and thought it may be a good place to seek advice from others who may have gone through similar events. So my story is a bit of an odd one. I’m 29 years old and I had always had heavier periods that were more on the painful side. But I was able
