Proton Beam vs Rapid Arc Image Guided Radiation Therapy
Tomorrow I will complete 39 radiation treatments for post prostatectomy salvage radiation therapy, which was delivered by a Rapid Arc machine. A friend of mine is now considering how his post prostatectomy salvage radiation therapy will be delivered. He knows about my Rapid Arc IGRT treatments. However

Mucinous diagnosis and scared!
Hi, I had a radical hysterectomy in November and was subsequently found to have stage 1A grade 1 ovarian cancer, and I was told that I did not need to have any chemo as a follow up. I have just found out that my type of cancer is mucinous. I am a little scared and worried because I can't find out much

Polyphenols - Inflammation.
Dietary phytochemicals popularly associated with health benefits often have a polyphenolic structure. Polyphenols invariably have an important protective role in plants - e.g. resveratrol, in the skin of red grapes, protects against fungal attack & damage caused by intense sunlight, while sulforaphane

Update on my Sister's Stage IV lung cancer and targeted therapy status
Hello all, This is my sister on the picture . She has been on Xalkori now for two weeks. Her side effect seems to be severe constipation. She is not hungry even though she is taking medicine to try to open her appetite. She has lost a ton of weight. I have tried cooking for her all sorts of things

Treatment options for metastases post Radical Prostatectomy
My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015, following which he underwent
radical
prostatectomy
(2015), hormone therapy (2015), and radiation therapy (2016). This year his PSA level started rising and PET CT scan has revealed metastases in right iliac bone.

Hello everyone, Had my 2 month visit with my Rheumatologist last week. My first question was what exactly happens in the body with PMR? She said PMR is really not a good name for this disorder because the inflammation affects the bursa, the small fluid-filled sacs that cushion joints. Then I asked

New Mets- Not good News
Not the news we were praying for😕 my fathers CT scan after 3 rounds of Jevtana and carboplatin to treat NEPC in the lymph nodes, we were hoping that the scans show shrinkage of nodes. Instead the CT scan showed multiple Mets to spine and pelvic bones(all new). His lymph nodes are somewhat stable and

Salvage Radiation Therapy Question
I am in process of 39 radiation treatments following biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy. Had 24th treatment yesterday. Just had 25th today. Was told that my last 15 treatments would be “more concentrated.” Machine rotated only 2 times instead of 3. I attempted to research on Internet, but found

What is meant when told that a met has been "resolved" after a mid-chemo CT scan?
I have had a prostatectomy in March 2014 and the tumor was given a Gleason score of 4+3. When my PSA rose to 0.91, I received radiation treatments in June 2015, causing my PSA to decrease to 0.63. Last fall, however, my PSA had risen to 16.8, and I commenced combined hormone therapy (Lupron) and chemotherapy
