Is this the norm ?
Hi all. I had my Spiro results this morning from my Gp. He said that my Fev1 /fv was at 68% and that my Fev1 was at 70%. That I am now classed as having copd. I asked him if that was why when I walk up stairs or a steep hill I am out of breath and my heart pounds in my chest as I had put it down

Constant urge to keep yawning to catch my breath or inhale deeply.
Hoping no one would mind if I started out this post explaining a little about myself. I am currently 23 years old weighing 160lbs and I am 5'10 or 70 inches in height. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York where I lived for 20 years of my life before my parents decided they wanted to move

Finally got an answer..
Hey guys, I knew this past year something wasn't right with my heart.. I knew there was a reason it'd randomly take off so fast, I knew there was a reason I was so conscious of it, aside from the anxiety... I have PVC's and PAC's, now i know most of the time these are harmless, but there are some occasions

Arrhythmia flare ups
Hi, I was just wondering if any of you go for a couple of months with no arrythmia/
pvc
activity, to then have a period of weeks or a month or two where it is really bad? I'm sure my 'phases' are not just set off by stress, they are awful when they happen and every other minute I have an arrythmia.

Spiro test results
New here and a little confused. Had a spirometrry teat done and the nurse told me that my results show lung disease but she couldn't confirm if I had copd as she is not allowed to. I have to go see my Gp and show him the print out she gave me . The results are EVC. 79%pr FEV1 74 %PR FVC.

Question about FEV1
Hey, I recently purchased a peak flow meter. It is an electronic one. I have had some widely varying PFT results from the full blown PFT inside the booth and some other tests at my GP's office. I noticed a big swig between numbers. I blow a lot of 1.89 FEV1's which is almost exactly what I blew when

I picked up a digital peak flow meter but I don't fully understand the readings
I get the peak flow part which matches my manual device's numbers fairly closely, but I also get something called an FEV1 rating which is about 5.45 - 5.59 on average. I tried searching Google about it but it's all Greek to me xD Can anyone interpret please? :)

Is it really COPD?
I had one lung function test where my FEV1 was 46 and then another test where my FEV1 was 75? Isn't an FEV1 of 75 still considered to be mild COPD? I don't know if I took the first test right, but how can these values be so off? I also have a severely reduced FVC and a very low DLCO. I Had signs of hyperinflation

Lung Function Percentage Question....
I'm confused about my test results. How do you figure out my lung percentage on the pulmonary function test? My FEV1 is 0.9L Thanks for your help :-)

Third ablation, lots of palpitations.
Hi there. Been a while since my last post. After the ablation for AVNRT in 2014, I underwent a second one in january this year (LVOT) and another one just 12 days ago (20th October). My cardio tried to burn a point in the RVOT which gives me palpitations when doing an effort like brisk walking. Unfortenately

Ectopic heartbeats, pvcs and pacs
Hi everyone, I have a question relating to pvcs and pacs. I got diagnosed in June of this year with them and was wondering if anyone who has these can tell me how many years they have had them and if they get worse or more frequent as the years go by??? Also what kind of medication you take or supplements

FEV1
What does the acronym FEV1 stand for? I know it is to do with a breathing test of some kind. Is it the test where they measure your breath with the machine?. Sorry to be a pain

COPD and confused.
I have two doctors fighting over whether or not I actually have COPD. I had a lung function test that showed an FEV1 of 49 a few months ago. My FEV1/FVC ratio was really elevated. My FVC was also as low as my FEV1. I have been perplexed about this for a while, so I requested another test from my PCP
