Aeri-Seal
I pinched this article off Facebook. As a treatment for Emphysema, I think it has a place amongst the others. I wonder if it has relevance for those with Collateral Ventilation, where other treatments are not a good option because of air leakage between the lobes in the lung through damaged tissue.

What is the difference between Fragmin & Innohep?
During my first pregnancy and part of my second I was on Innohep prescribed by an Internest Doctor (my old OB had always called it Fragmin so I thought it was just a brand name) I was taken off of it by a Hematologist who said I need not be treated. I miscarried a week later. I am 10 weeks pregnant

Smoking - Giving up
I have tried a few time over the years to give up but unfortunately the problem with my wife smoking allay made me go back to it, even after months without a cigarette I would start again (only maybe 10 to 15 a day) then on day my wife announced she was giving up. after a couple of weeks I felt she

Coming off Warfarin
Hi, it was discovered I had a DVT on New Years Eve and I was immediately put on fragmin injections and warfarin. The intended period for the warfarin was 3 months which would take me to the end of March. I currently visit the INR Nurse weekly and my INR has remained throughout at the low end of

How do you come off Warfarin
It is nearly 6 months since my first bi-lateral pulmonary embolism. I expect to see a consultant for a check up and that I will come off Warfarin. How does this happen, is the Warfarin reduced over time to allow blood time to stabilise, or not?. I think that I am a bit nervous about coming off it, as

This is why it is important to speak up
A cautionary tale about speaking up. Today I had a pulmonary function test. The referral said specifically to test for before and after ventolin. But what nearly happened? After the tech finished the before ventolin tests, she tells me: you can go now.

Is it really COPD?
I have been diagnosed with mild COPD but I wondered if anybody else suffers strange attacks. I become sort of lightheaded, not giddy, but a strange feeling and then I feel breathless and as though I am going to fall over. It is accompanied by real weakness which can last for some time-an hour or more
