My latest test came back with elevated calcium levels and thyroid hormone level (assume
pTH
) and a new gp is referring me to a specialist.

Blood results for vitamin /minerals
You probably know I'm struggling with top of the range calcium and over range
PTH
.. and top range
PTH
.. indicative of hyperparathyroidism for which 2 endos said I probably have. So is my body keeping the vit D down to help with calcium?

'Too much' brain calcium may cause Parkinson's
Before my diagnosis I always had Low level of Vitamin D (like many of Pwpd) and High level of
(Parathyroid hormone) but normal calcium level. This study is from 2018 but Calcium concept has been intriguing me for years specially after I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Parkinson's disease.

Parathyroid Hormone
I have had approximately 6 shots and each time my
PTH
increases greatly until time for the next shot when it falls below normal levels. These increases in
PTH
have caused high calcium levels and a condition called caliciphylaxis which can become deadly.

PTH levels
Bloods have just come back and my
PTH
is 9.3 measurement here is 18-88 for normal. Also ESR raised to 14 when its always between 5 and 8 even before diagnosis and steroids. Is there anything I should be asking next week about these figures please.

hypothyroid following partial thyroidectomy. Question about HRT and optimum T4 levels.
Dear forum, I am 58. 3 months ago while having parathyroid adenoma removed, I also had partial thyroidectomy. This was because thyroid nodule was discovered during scans looking for the adenoma. The nodule was examined and contained micropapliiary carcinoma. No further treatment needed for that thankfully

Do you have hyperparathyroidism with ckd?
For those with ckd and hyperparathyroidism, what is your
pth
? What are your symptoms and how are you treating it? Mine is in the low 400’s and I’m starting to think some of my physical ailments are caused by this. Thanks!

EH up, never expected that.
So , went ready to argue my case for repeat testing, testing
PTH
, IF, . Started discussion by stating I was not criticising the practice, or individual GP's because I understand it is a very specialised topic but.....this is what I want.

PTH high after third infusion, can't find a competent endocrinologist to consult
My
PTH
(parathyroid hormone) turned out to be quite high: 167 after my second chemo. Has never before been tested. Not sure what to make of it. My MO doesn't know what to do, partly because calcium and potassium levels are still ok.

Hyperparathyroidism and kidney disease
Does anyone has high
PTH
with normal calcium levels in the blood? I’m having the worst symptoms with muscles, joints, heart and no appetite. They usually say
PTH
rises calcium in the blood but mine is just normal.

The
PTH
low level was completely dismissed as nothing to worry about as my calcium and Vit D levels were in her words 'perfect'.

A lation postponed
Was due an ablation this Friday but just got news that it has been postponed due to having high
PTH
blood test levels and a lump in my neck. I know your
PTH
levels can have an impact on your heart but has anyone else had a procedure postponed or cancelled because of it?

The Coimbra Protocol for Treating Autoimmune Diseases
Has anyone here used the Coimbra protocol for treating Hashimoto's? It looks very promising! Antibody levels are brought down. The theory behind it is that patients with autoimmune diseases have cellular resistance to vitamin D. Patients are given large doses of vitamin D (along the lines of 1000 IU
