I think I feel like I lost my identity twice Over - once through motherhood and once through the
psychosis
. My husband is the main carer to our little boy. I watch him play with little one and I just don't have the same energy and enthusiasm as him, I'm always comparing myself.

PPP & colours
I was interested to read a post on here recently about somebody who had beliefs about certain colours during
psychosis
as I too experienced this - black was bad & evil, white was good etc.

PP and the menopause
Hi all, I just want to start a post about PP and the menopause, to see if anybody on here has any knowledge or experience that they can share. I had PP 11 years ago with my first baby, and postnatal depression after my second 7 years ago. The final time I saw my perinatal psychiatrist she told me that

Faith & PP
Since going through postpartum
psychosis
my faith has been shaken, almost shattered. Has anyone else gone through this? As a Christian - it's very difficult coming to a conclusion that God may not exist...

Am I fully Recovered?
I had postpartum
psychosis
with both my daughters the first was in 2008 where I spent 2 weeks in the mental hospital, and the second time was 2012 where I spent about 3 months in the hospital. I live in the US and I don't think we have mother baby units how some of you guys from the UK talk about.

Halloween
Hi All, Since having PPP I have noticed that my attitude towards Halloween has changed as a lot as a lot of the things associated with this festival I find a bit of a nasty reminder of the trauma of the worst of my
psychosis
.

Studies? And Thank You
First Thank You all for this site! It has helped so much just knowing others are out there! Every post resistant with me in some way and lets me know my thoughts and feelings are legitimate (or understandable). I'm (we're) 4 years post PP and I am wondering if there have been any Brain Studies on PP

Help, I can't go on like this!
To the point where I do not believe I am ill and there is something bigger going on (part of the
psychosis
). I guess I am just after some advice about alternative treatments to antipsychotics and antidepressants and whether there is any advice out there about ECT for this condition.

Just had one of those "enlightening moments"
Anyway, I was told I had steroid induced
psychosis
by the Rhuemy. He said I was taking far too much Pred (60) and I need to reduce it drastically (20). He said I was going to go through a withdrawal until my body got used to the new dose. Boy, that was some withdrawal!!!!!

My Friend's depression - what meds, diagnosis do you suggest? - especially people in the same shoe and doctors!
They used to think He's got bipolar and
psychosis
, but He clearly hasn't got any of these (at least that's what I see). x :) Krisztina

Post Partum Psychosis leading to Bipolar Affective Disorder
I suffered from Post Partum
Psychosis
25 months ago after the birth of my daughter. I spent 7 weeks in a Mother and baby Unit and was put on Olanzapine. On returning home I suffered from depression. However, by the time my daughter was 10 months old I was off my medication.

Anyone else think breastfeeding may trigger pp?
My last midwife said that the part of the brain that has
psychosis
also is the part that produces milk, I think it might be overstimulated but I can't find any research.

My friend had just been diagnosed with postpartum
psychosis

Desperate to feel normal again
Hi everyone. I suffered from PP November 2014 with the birth of my daughter. I spent 10 days in a separate facility while my hubby and in-laws looked after the baby. After this the baby and I were moved to the mother and baby unit and we stayed there for about four weeks. I am now back at work full-time

Pregnant Again!!
Hey everyone, I haven't been around in maybe...a year and a half or more. I have had a lot happen to me; my medications have been switched around like crazy, I came off all of them but one, and I dove into alcoholism and benzo addiction. I have been clean for over 70 days now! I feel like ever since
