Forms of contraception
My doctor will not let me have any contraception with hormones in, although he said there is no known link he thought it was not advisable following pp.
Hi betty2014,
It's a topic that comes up quite a bit on here as obviously it's a big concern for us & we want to be as informed as possible. There doesn't seem to be much info around & it's all a bit vague but you might find these chats on here from a while ago quite useful:
Is going back on the pill a good idea do you think? healthunlocked.com/app-netw...
Which contraception? healthunlocked.com/app-netw...
If I find any useful links with good 'contraction after PP' information/advice, I'll let you know.
I have an IUD and it works great. Dont know if that helps or not. Good luck
Hi betty2014,
I haven't had experience of this but I did try an implant (the thing in your arm) and it didn't suit me, gave me horrible skin so I switched to a different method. I don't know if any hormonal ones should be cautious, given the possible hormonal link with PP, but I was on the pill for years and that never affected me or gave me any triggers. Good luck with what you choose, hopefully a Dr should also be able to advise. As Andrea says there's not a lot of info around, but my Drs was certainly fine about putting me on the pill, even when I was still in MBU and quite unwell.
Take care, xx
