The hardest part for us as a family to deal with is the
psychosis
which happens fairly regularly she hallucinates, she gets angry and in general is she is like a different person. Her and my dad have been together for over 50 years and it breaks my heart for my father.

Prednisone Made Me Nuts...
I post this just so that anyone on prednisone is aware that it can cause depression and even
psychosis
. Of course if it's not having any bad effects for you that's fine. It just really bothered me that neither my doc nor the Pharmacist mentioned this when it was prescribed.

one step forward, two back
In a ghastly way, I almost hope I do start to develop a
psychosis
, just so I can go back and shout 'I told you so' and break a few things.

Flowers will grow again
Here I describe my
Psychosis
and Recovery simultaneously. Below Pikorua, a Maori symbol that resembles intertwined new growth (Pikopiko Fern). It represents beauty, strength and endurance of the bond of loyal friendship between two people.

Hi I'm new here
I had PPP in Jan 2016 and relapsed three times and ended up in a mother and baby unit for 3 months, then an acute ward twice, my latest stay being Jan 2017. My husband has been amazing through it all but 3 weeks ago decided he couldn't do it anymore and left me. I am heartbroken, I've got the crisis

I don't know what to do
It looked like bi-polar (with hypomania as no
psychosis
stuff?). I went to a GP and I told him that I self harm, can have suicidal thoughts, have no motivation sometimes/no hope for the future etc and then other times I'm super creative and passionate and motivated.

Fear of going crazy
I know it's common and that stress and anxiety make your brain think less rationally, but every time I'm in a bad phase with anxiety or depression I can't stop thinking about what if
psychosis
is just around the corner. I fear I'm gonna detach from reality entirely or have an uncontrollable fit.

I am new here. Being admitted to a mother and baby unit. Any advice?
The posts have been really helpful, but what I am experiencing isn't
psychosis
but real. I have a tracker in my chest that is able to communicate with me, well the man who wants to take my children away. He is making me hit myself and bruise myself so he spares the children.

Where on Earth Do We Go From Here??
We decided to assume responsibility for our own treatment, as I myself have also found out that I have the same problems, again with lots of neuro symptoms including a degree of
psychosis
. I'm Dad by the way.

Is the support I'm giving my sister's enough???
May sister just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl...everything was going smoothly until they decided to bring the baby abroad because she and her husband's working there. Upon securing the babies pass to the country they are working we decided that he baby could fly back home to have her vaccinations

Post partum psychosis as part of the big conversation on mental health
If you have had pp
psychosis
, are you finding it easier to be open and discuss your experiences now that in the UK, there is a big drive towards discussing mental health?

How I felt a year ago.
anyway if I didn't go to hospital 3 weeks post partum, i would have just continued to not sleep and stay up all day and all night worrying about the baby and I would have lost my mind even further and gone further into the depths of
psychosis
.
