Not fair!
I put a call into my rheumatologist for a prescription for 20 mg
prednisone
. Can anyone tell me about how long it took for the pain to subside after starting
prednisone
. I honestly cannot remember from my first time with this but it seems like it only took a day or two at most.

Prednisone
after a positive temporary biopsy. My vision has been ok, except the last couple of days I’m having a strange phenomenon. It seems my eyes are having trouble focusing at a distance.

Traveling and worsening of symptoms
I thought it was asthma related and have taken
prednisone
in the past. But it’s been years since then and I’ve had more incidents where I am tired and short of breath and need to lie down. But I haven’t needed my rescue inhaler. Does anyone with ME/CFS have similar issues from being on an airplane?

Tests for adrenal function
I have had PMR since 2019, and have been able to manage the symptoms with
prednisone
effectively. Once again, I am at a low dose in my slow tapering plan (currently 0.5 mg/day). Apart from my CRP being a little high (7 mg/L, trending downwards over recent tests), I have no clear symptoms of PMR.

Covid and RA
I’ve had RA for about three years but so far the only treatment that’s worked has been 5mg of
prednisone
. Which I know is not really a treatment other than for pain. I had just started MTX again when I tested positive for Covid and stopped the methotrexate.

raised Inflammation markers, pain not typical
After 5 years on
prednisone
I am down to 1 mg. Have been on Celebrex for arthritis pain, but concerned about heart health I’ve stopped taking it. I am now experiencing general pain and discomfort, not in the typical areas I first experienced when diagnosed with PMR.

New to RA /methotrexate looking for advice.
Been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a few weeks ago and starting methotrexate tomorrow which I’m starting on 10mg for 2 weeks then 15mg for 2 weeks then 20mg from there, also 5mg of folic acid the other six days and 5mg of
prednisone
for now but reducing it.

what is normal when tapering?
Is this because I still need more
prednisone
or is it my body adjusting. How do you know when your adrenals start working again. If I am taking 5mg and my body needs 6mg would the adrenals supply the needed 1mg. Not asking for medical advice, just anyone else's experience.

Concerning Micro clots?
I started on 81 mg of aspirin as well as
prednisone
and continue to take the 15 mg warfarin and 600 mg plaquenil. I still have a lot of inflammation in my body and have not felt like myself since these events. Does this sound like micro clots to you?

Keeping the weight down despite asthma and prednisolone
I have poorly controlled asthma, and have to take large quantities of
prednisone
every couple of months to cope with breathing (I do not go to A&E much anymore, b.c. they do the same -- nebs and
prednisone
). This makes it difficult to stay fit, or at least to keep the weight under control.

what if I stop taking Zytiga?
Started Lupron and Zytiga w/
prednisone
. I have seriously struggled staying on Zytiga. The usual side effects are bad enough but three months ago my blood pressure spiked to 222/110 sending me to the ER. I’ve never had high blood pressure before this episode.

GCA - Mums current condition
She is on 80mg or
prednisone
each day, and the head aches are limited now only to when she eats, but we are finding even that reduces when she drinks a lot of water with her meal. Her spirits are up, and she is excited to see the Doctors finally next week.

Q: MRI /MRA Results Normal
The question I have is regarding something PMRpro commented on a few posts ago: that the tests are worthless if you’ve been on
prednisone
for a while. I’ve been on 10 mg or less this past year, and then about a week before the MRIs I was started on 60 mg for the GCA.

Actemra; The elephant in the room. Is it working or not working for you?
GCA Feb 2018
Prednisone
therapy only. Here I am 6 and half years later and still trying to find the sweet spot with
prednisone
--not too much/not too little---Just right. I am trying to reduce slowly using the DSNS program because it has always worked for me.
